Hey guys,

I am getting almost 30mb/sec down when i do a speedtest, and streaming in general is perfect.

However, twitch completely sucks, i cannot get more than 480p, and even that buffers.

Has anyone else experienced it?

If i connect to our office vpni get around 2.8mb/sec, without vpn i get around 0.4mb/s

Don't understand when you say you get 30mb when doing a speedtest but then with and without a vpn its less?

I made a similar post a couple of days backs. I also have issues with Twitch buffering on Rain @ 480p. I have a 60MB download speed when using speedtest. YouTube videos play fine at 1080p (60fps).

I've also downloaded a chrome extension which allows you to pick the Twitch server. It still buffers, no matter which server I pick.

Someone suggested changing my DNS. Will give it a try tonight.

You're probably asking the OP, but mine is WebAfrica for what it's worth.

I'm only asking because I know for a fact that RSAWEB doesn't throttle Twitch - however - depending when you stream to Twitch, you will have issues (frame rate drops etc)

From my testing, during business hours I get FRD's
After business hours, it's fine with minimal if any FRD's

Twitch refuse to setup a local server for Twitch so they screwing us.
YouTube Gaming has local (because it runs off Google's services)

But also, Twitch is alot better lately in ZA than it was almost 1 year ago.

Webafrica won't be able to implement throttling. They are just resellers.

Rain LTE. ;)

Ok, maybe I should have been more clear ;) I have Rain LTE-"A", with WebAfrica as the "ISP".

I just find it strange that I can select different Twitch servers and still get buffering at 480p on a 60mbs line.

If you test with a VPN and get better streaming, then I would say it's throttling.

Something I want to mention though, I have fibre at home (100mbps) and during peak time, I get a lot of packet drops and my speed goes down to 50mbps. I can't even stream 480p then.

So, test your connections with WinMTR as well and see if you have packet drops...

I've also noticed its almost impossible to watch twitch on rain lately

Twitch buffering at 480p. WTF

Can you test with a VPN connection? This is strange in deed.

Twitch had major issues recently. Laggy streams here in the UK, too.

Still or has it been resolved?

Dude!! You are the best. Hopefully I'm not talking to soon, but currently streaming at 900p 60fps (streamer output) without any buffering!

I hope this lasts :)

Thanks again!
That always works, it makes the Twitch stream multithreaded AFAIK, enjoy.

i dont have this at all with fibre so its not twich, its RAIN being slow as they so heavily congested,
PM me and i will give you a test VPN that will direct you via my VPN on CISP to see if that helps then you can know where the issue is. i have a 100/100 line so it wont touch my line really
