Twitter Client for Mac

i refuse to be pulled into yet another time/bandwidth sucking application that does nothing to benefit my life whatsoever.....ppl do not need to know about my every bowel movement, and if they want an update they can check my msn/skype/aim/facebook status.....i loathe myself for having even that much

Lol, I used to have an account with people following me too. I killed it and am free now :D

not worth it,

firstly i believe twitter is the most useless piece of web development every to come out of this whole web 2.0 boom. It is just plain stupid, yet everyone loves the piece of ****. I used it for a total of 5mins, the time it took me to sign up, and delete my account.

But if you are one of those individuals that find the need to micro blog about rubbish and like to tell every person you know what you think about the sky or the car that drove past you this morning. You can use a program called twitterfic from iconfactory.

You obviously don't understand twitter then...

Relatively happy with Twhirl. I suppose I don't know any better :)

I understand twitter, i just really dont see the point in it. Its just another time wasting tool like facebook, myspace etc.. Yes it might be usefull for software companies for a minor feed on updates, but people around me, post the post mundane, lamest twitter feeds.
"I noticed that i was using the wrong keyboard today, silly me..."

" i was driving and i saw this driver picking his nose and he ate it..."

i mean wtf. who cares.

But then again this whole blogging thing never really caught on with me.

That's exactly your problem.. you're thinking of Twitter as facebook or myspace.. when you should be thinking of twitter as something more like digg/reddit/stumble...

for example:

I follow Kevin Rose (90,000+ followers) on twitter.. which means most of the Apple related stories (content that I'm interested in) arrive on my twitter home page long before they make it to sites like engadget/gizmodo etc... I also follow the digg2000 twitter account... which means that I automatically get content that has received more than 2000 digs on digg.com...

Now add to this Ryan Block (formally of engadget, now gdgt) and Alex Albrecht of "The totally rad show" CNN, etc etc... and I've essentially consolidated multiple news sources into one clear and concise page... which I can then in turn forward (or retweet) to people who follow me and have similar interests.

When I first joined twitter I also just thought it was some silly "Im off to the loo" type microblog site, which would be useless (and there are lots of people who do post stupid things like,"I saw a guy picking his nose and eating it") However, I took the time to read a little about it and understand it... now I can't live without it.

I'm liking it, been a using twitter for a while but never had the desktop client.

i re-iterate, microblogs are not my scene.

Then why post here? What does your opinion on which twitter client to use really mean if by your own admission you "only used it for 5 mins"

It's annoying when you think you're educating someone who is misinformed.. when actually they're just stupid.

I post here because someone asked for a client as in "Twitter Client for Mac" in which i responded with a client. So please stfu.

Further more its a public forum so i am entitled and by all right allowed to air my opinion on said software/website/tool etc..

Obviously when saying 5mins it was a sarcastic remark. But anyways...

Must say, I'm really impressed with the service, last night I made a comment about the awesomeness of Sarah Connor Chronicles and the Twit Terminator Bot found me and asked me where she or her son is. Lulz. Pure win...
