Twitter is just not cool

Ironic about the negative comments here on Twitter when it's scaring Google as it's deemed/ suggested it could be bigger than the Search Giant.

lol - nope. would not and can never be.

i've heard/read that people don't know how long twitter is going to last...but hey, who knows?

Taking over from Google will be close to impossible though... :D :D

I concur... but the news I got that statement from was actually posted on this site.

Well Googles wary of Twitter, is word on the street.

But as they say we can't believe everything we read so we'll have to wait and see :)

EDIT: Sorry for poor grammar earlier, brains thinking before my fingers can catch up :)

I find ppl who use Mxit/Facebook/Twitter/etc "special" - more especially if you are an adult male.

As I said, twitter is realtime search, something google can't do at the moment. I see google and twitter merging rather than one replacing the other.

Example. If there was a tornado in JHB. You'd simultaneously have 2-3000 people in JHB all sending out tweets with the words "tornado" and "JHB", this would immediately send these 2 words to the top of the trend list, and within seconds, anyone anywhere in the world using twitter would know there's been a Tornado in JHB. (realtime info)

OR,

When the internet is down, a quick search using search.twitter.com will reveal a hundreds of people saying "internet is down in JHB" (realtime search results)

As I keep trying to point out, "Twitter is not so much about what you are saying, it's about what EVERYONE is saying." You don't even have to be on twitter to get the benefits of twitter.

ah now i understand.... *eye opener*

will look into this sometime. thanx - best explanation so far on mybb

Twitter is for twits. Seriously, how do they expect me to life and express myself in 140 characters?!

Wireless is a lesser broadband technology and all who use it must be paid less.

....See what I did there?

Now, stop worrying so much about technology you don't understand and just life your life!

Used bold ? No I do not see what you did. So twitter is now wireless and makes less money than broadband technology?

Ok, I'll try another one: Microsoft users are all softies who love Bill Gates.

Come on guys, anyone else got some more examples?

I am even more confused, what has microsoft got to do with twitter? They are still figuring out search engines after buying bing and have no plans to enter micro blogging.

So you've been mouthing off about twitter without even understanding what it's about? :erm:

The ignorance makes me sick

nah i've used it - multiple times but never seen this feature Mr Vertigo is speaking of.

I still think it looks like a site for children? haven't changed my opinion about that :erm:

I think what this thread illustrates well is how ignorance breeds contempt.

Use twitter for what you find useful and don't shoot down others who use it if you don't even understand how it works yourself.

I agree, twitter does breed a lot of ignorance, but shooting it down is probably a bit harsh. If the toy makes the child happy then who are we to look down upon it.

Oh so if you think facebook is lame...and post why you think it's lame (how people try to show off by posting "going to dubai for 2 weeks! Hotels FTW!" - or whatever) but then you suddenly find out about a new feature, and admit it does sound kinda cool you are suddenly ignorant?

freaken sorry cloud, for not knowing about that feature but a lot of people on mybb said "twitter is just a facebook status update" and I didn't see ANYTHING about that feature on the site....I humbly apologize to YOU;)

Hey, I didn't understand it either when I first heard about it. Then I decided to take a deeper look at it and found that I could use it as a supplement to RSS and I smiled, knowing that I have enriched my online experience some more.

Saying it looks like a kiddie site ergo those who use it are kids ("twits") or that you have heard some lame things about the software therefore all who use it are lamers - pretty immature guys.

Realising you made a mistake and apologising on the other hand, is commendable.

/cheer Keeper!

still though...they could of added pictures of wolves to the site.....would of been much cooler.
