Twitter will encourage users to read articles before retweeting them

Twitter Inc. will prompt some users to click links to other websites before retweeting them, part of an effort to discourage the spread of misinformation and foster more thoughtful communication on its social network.

“Sharing an article can spark conversation, so you may want to read it before you Tweet it,” the company said in a tweet Wednesday. The prompt will only apply to Twitter users on the Android mobile operating system for now.

1) Hahahahahahaha... if you're not instantly spreading the nonsense, you're not winning
2) From a security perspective, reflexively clicking random links is a terrible - terrible - practice to encourage. Simply awful.

Who'm I kidding.. this is twitser... they're already infected up the whazoo and couldn't read anything longer than a sentence before being distracted by the next shiny....

It's always people who don't use twitter that think it works like this.

One day when you're a full grown dog and no longer a pup, you'll see there's more to life than what you think.

Oh. Wait.

You sound twiggered...

Much like youtube, twitters value is drowning in a sea of stupid. It's the nature of the these platforms.

So its like the 'terms and conditions' that everyone always reads before clicking agree

A good idea is to have a comprehension test of the article which the person must pass in order to get the share button

Mybb should encourage users to read articles before commenting.

Surely you're not suggesting that we sometimes comment on just the headline without having read the article?

..exactly like I just did?
