Discovery just encourages the already existing behaviour of extremely nervous drivers who can barely operate a car. They don't really care about the real world negative consequences it has for things like traffic flow.
There seem to be two extremes of bad driving going on. You've got the lunatics who are running red lights, barely even slowing down at stop streets, habitually speeding down oncoming lanes and so on. Then you have the really slow drivers who cannot manage to pull away when a light changes, slow to 30kph every time they approach a green traffic light, sit forever at four way stop streets carefully looking all the way down the side roads in case there might be a car visible in the distance, etc. Both groups are a menace. This morning alone: A 1 series cut a corner and nearly rammed into my car while I was yielding for traffic. Immediately after, a taxi bypassed a traffic circle and nearly took out my front bumper. Few 100s of metres down the road, an Avanza bypassed traffic while it was waiting for traffic light to turn green, drove against traffic in order to be 1st on the slip road to the freeway.
Then at the next stop, a Hilux went straight through a red traffic light on a busy intersection.
