Two police officers "executed"

Three in court for killing of KZN cop

Jeff Wicks, News24

Durban - Three men accused of murdering an Inanda police officer appeared briefly in the Ntuzuma Magistrate’s court on Friday, facing a raft of charges relating to the killing.

The three, Sabelo Mkhize, 26, S’boniso Khubisa, 19, and Lindokuhle Mchunu, 18, were arrested on Wednesday, a day after they allegedly shot and killed one officer and critically wounded another after overpowering and disarming them.

The officers had been serving a protection order on one of the accused at the time of the attack.

Amidst a considerable police presence, the three appeared before Magistrate Siphamandla Mchunu. They were remanded in custody ahead of their formal bail application next week.

The court heard that the state would oppose bail and that the two younger accused were already out on bail on another murder charge.

They have been charged with two counts of kidnapping, two counts of aggravated robbery, one count of murder and another of attempted murder. They have also been charged for being in possession of firearms stolen from the officers, and another unlicensed weapon.

The wounded officer remains in a stable condition in a Durban hospital.

Kill them immediately.

no.

remove all of their arms and legs from their bodies.

That's immediate execution. I'd rather they suffer for a long time. Maybe remove all their fingers on both hands

Cop killers claim police assault in custody

Kaveel Singh, News24

Durban - Three men accused of murdering a police officer and critically wounding another in KwaZulu-Natal, claimed to have been beaten while in police custody.

Sabelo Mkhize, 26, S’boniso Khubisa, 19, and Lindokuhle Mchunu, 18, said, through their attorney Thobile Chili after their first appearance at the Pinetown Magistrates Court that they had been beaten while in custody at the Greenwood Park Police Station.

“My clients say on September 29 a large contingent of officers went into their cell and beat them.”

Chili added Mkhize suffered fractures and internal bleeding resulting in him passing blood through his stool.

“He sought medical attention and the right to open a case, but both were denied by the police station. We request he be sent to Westville Prison Hospital so he can be treated.”

Mkhize was advised to formally open a case against police and was granted hospital visitation.

The accused were appearing at the Ntuzuma Magistrates court on Friday for their formal bail application. They abandoned bail due to “personal reasons” and will appear in court on November 10.

The trio were arrested last week, a day after they allegedly shot and killed one officer and critically wounded another after overpowering and disarming them.

The officers had been serving a protection order on one of the accused at the time of the attack.

During their last appearance, the state said it intended to oppose their bail. It informed the court Khubisa and Mchunu were out on bail on another murder charge.

The trio face two counts of kidnapping, two counts of aggravated robbery, one count of murder and another of attempted murder. They have also been charged with being in possession of firearms stolen from the officers and another unlicensed weapon.

The cops should have just killed them. beat them to a pulp.

Cry us a river... you executed a cop and attempted to execute a second one... I'm surprised the cops didn't gut you pathetic bodies.. its what you deserve.

Lol, they kill people and then complain about a beating.
Personally I think it would be great if they were granted bail and someone on the outside plant a few slugs in their faces. Useless terds....

Nah I'd rather them die from a good beating in a cell.
