Typically, Telkom doesn't pitch for installation

I have a problem with my existing R87 p/m line where I get a 'crossed line'. I seldom use the telkom line - (its only there for the alarm). Will this cause a problem when the techie installs ADSL?

But, I CAN say that I'm now posting this via my ADSL connection(!). Woohoo.

Phew! :) That's good news, but I've decided to wait until we hear what Telscum is doing in November before I order my line. I've lived without ADSL for this long I can wait another couple of months. :cool:

Having had DSL384 installed, here's my speed (according to Telkom's tester):
Code:
Below is the data used to calculate your download speed:

    * Download time: 9.391 seconds
    * Size of file: 500 KiloBytes
    * Estimated line speed: 434.5 (kilobits/second)
    * Estimated line speed: 53.2 (kiloBytes/second)

* I should mention that I'm about a block away from the exchange.

Most likely not - however (!) I have only gotten really bad crossed lines SINCE ADSL was installed - go figure. To date, I have reported the fault 5 or 6 times - each time it is fixed, it reappears after a few weeks.

Most likely, every time they fix mine,they break my neighbours, and the whole thing moves in a cycle!

Yes, I have had the same thing. And the funny thing is that it is always crossed with the same people. I have heard all about some lady's son in my neighboured who is doing to well in university. :)
