Tyre Circumference

thread bump

i just called few places cause my sister needs thses tyres and furk me r700 for a tyre

did OP manage to change the tyre size ?or anyone did ?

different diameter will affect the ABS cos the wheels will be moving at different rates...if there are different tyre sizes on at the same time.

? Dude? What? Come on. Even with all tyres the same diameter, when you are turning the outer wheel is rotating at a different speed to the inner wheel... Hence CV joints & differentials.

What size tires are currently on the car?

I'd happily pay R700 a tire for my car, cheapest I get is around R1200 /cry

same tyres as op 165/60-14

you pay 1200 for 18 or 19 ?

16", I won't buy cheap tyres so I normally go for Yokohama's, Pirelli's or Michelin's

Get prices on 175/55R14 or 175/60R14

The 175/55R14 will be slightly smaller and the 175/60R14 ones will be slightly larger. Both are within 3% of the ones you currently have on.

Is 175/55R14 a standard size? I don't think it is. You should be able to get 175/60R14s though I'm not sure how common they are. Best is to go to a reputable dealer and go through their price list and find the closest size that is cheap. The more common tyres are almost always cheaper, even if they're slightly bigger.

I always thought that higher profile tires handle worse than lower ones.

On a smooth surface a low profile tyre with rigid side walls will give one a "riding on rails" experience.
However I have found that low profile tyres can actually cause worse handling on rough surfaces than higher profile tyres.

On a rough surface an unforgiving low profile tyre can cause the car's suspension to jump around a lot which decreases contact with the road surface.
On a corner with a rough surface it can actually cause the rear end to kick out as the rear suspension jumps over the bumps.
In this scenario a higher profile tyre can absorb the bumps better (less suspension movement) and keep better contact with the road.

No idea, just working on what sizes will be within 3% of the original

apparently the 165-60-14 is the only tyre that can fit cause of the height and stuff at the back

sister got them for r500 per tyre ..some hifly brand
