Had a puncture tonight, and combined with the fact that I need to replace my front two tyres anyway, I thought I might as well replace the whole set.

Current tyres are Pirelli 225/40/18 Rosso's (non run-flat). I see Autostyle is listing the P Zero Nero for the same size (run flats) for R1295 a tyre - which is an absolute steal and half the price at Minty's. Not sure how they are able to offer this price without there being a catch.

Are tyres from Autostyle genuine? Or are they retreads?

Any advice is appreciated. Will be giving em a call tomorrow morning.

They don't fit them as far as I know.

Also don't get run flats, they are the most horrid pieces of shyte tyres ever invented. It ruins the ride and you can't have them repaired once you've gotten a puncture.

I've bought from them without issue but they're not in the greatest area so next time I will have them deliver.

Yeah immediately decided against run flats. Only issue appears to be these are rated P where my existing ones are ZR.

Autostyle tyres are cheap crap. Dont play with your life. You have a few sq cm between you and the road. Fit decent tires.

Don't see any issue. My local tyre guy has similar prices. I see they have just opened a fitment center so it could be part of a promo.

Saw the autostyle tyres are rated quite low compared to what I have now - P as opposed to my ZR. Made a booking at Mintys to fit some Toyo's. Reviews I did on local car fan sites (vw, audi and bmw) all seem to rate Toyo as a great tyre.

Comes at a great price too.

What model, and what price if you don't mind sharing?

Tyre prices are the most over inflated in SA.
Take TWT and mintys for example, theres about a R500 per tyre difference on the EXACT same tyre.

Autostyle sells some chinese brands, but their name brands are as good as any other.
Bridgestone, Good year and other premium tyres are all made here in SA.
Autostyles mark up is just lower than the other stores.

Ifyou buying Pirelli its fine, but if you trying Wanli and those other budget brands dont do it.

Rosso are premium sport tyres. very expensive. P Zero Nero is Pirellis budget tyre. It wont be as good as your Rossos.

They're great tyres, but seem to be made from a softer compound. Their lifespan will therefore be shorter...

"P" is not a rating?

The P Zero Nero GT is their enhanced version, made to go with medium-large sedans and sports cars.

The P Zero Nero:

The P Zero Nero (nero Italian for black) is Pirelli’s Max Performance Summer tire developed for the drivers of sports cars, sporty coupes and medium-large sedans. The P Zero Nero was developed to work harder so the driver could play harder exploiting the sporting character of their high performance car. Pirelli’s warranty does not cover tires that develop compound cracking due to use in ambient temperatures below 45° Fahrenheit (7° Celsius), so the P Zero Nero, like all summer tires, is not intended to be driven in near-freezing temperatures, through snow or on ice.

P Zero Nero tires feature a silica and carbon black enhanced tread compound molded into a subtle asymmetric, wide rib tread design to increase the rigidity of the tread to resist deformation and enhance grip and steering response on a variety of road surfaces while enhancing resistance to irregular wear and generating low noise levels. Circumferential grooves are optimized in their position and width to maximize dry road performance while enhancing hydroplaning resistance.

The tire’s internal structure features twin steel belts reinforced by zero degree nylon to complement a lightweight aramid internal structure that resists deformation at high speeds.

Yeah I always knew my time with Rosso was limited. Its an Alfa Giulietta QV.

Switching to the Toyos based on the reviews I found with similar cars.

Not the "P" in pirelli's own range branding.

Here they list the ratings on their own website:

THE SPEED SYMBOL
The Speed Symbol indicates the maximum speed at which the tyre can carry a load corresponding to its Load Index (except for loads at speed above 210 Km/h) under service conditions specified by the tyre manufacturer.

P = 150 km/h
