So what if the driver has 5 orders to deliver, all with this priority option?

An important feature of the priority delivery option is that Uber won’t assign multiple orders with the option selected to the same delivery person.
Sure you won't ;)

Only use Uber Eats for a collection order if I get a monthly Absa R50 voucher to use on it.

Waste of money to pay delivery and Tip (unless hung over) Could just walk down the street from a jog and collect.

Yeah, rather go and collect my own food if getting takeaways . Had to many cases of missing food or drinks and the driver just claiming they never got it.

Otherwise a good home cooked meal is winner

Not sure I'll use them again. I recently ordered a rack of ribs and chips from a local grillhouse and up until this most recent delivery, their stuff has been good. But when this latest order got delivered, the chips were hard and cold and the ribs were not far behind. Before, the driver has usually been in a car or on a motorbike but this time, the guy rocked up on one of those electronic bicycles. While a cheap transport solution, it is undoubtedly slower and, throw in multiple stops, means your food is going to arrive almost unedible.

While the available drivers on the service are typically more than enough for each to handle one delivery at a time, peak usage periods can result in one driver having to take food to more than one address.

Not necessarily. In the areas with fewer drivers the Uber Eats option is disabled permanently.

Last time we ordered through them the driver never turned up. They claimed the driver had attempted delivery, but even their own tracking showed the driver was never anywhere near our house. The supposed proof of delivery photograph didn't even have any houses in the background. They deliberately make it very hard to get hold of anyone when anything goes wrong, then even once you manage to log a ticket they just mark it as resolved and close it. Ultimately I just lodged a dispute with my bank and they reversed the charge within 24 hours.

I've seen complaints about the same behaviour from Uber in numerous countries.

Or ... get more drivers ?
Then how will the executives fatten their bank accounts?

  1. Stop buying takeaways
  2. Spend money on airfryer
  3. Buy frozen chips/wedges
  4. ...
  5. Profit

Uber Eats are terrible:
Charges restaurant 30%
Charges delivery fee.
Charges service fee.
Ask you to tip restaurant (because you need to make up for the fact that they rip the restaurant off)
Ask you to tip the driver (because uber pays them nothing).
So they end up taking 30%+ of the money just for being a gatekeeper. They make more money off the transaction than either the restaurant or the driver.

Just echoing some experiences here.
Last few orders have all been cold and delivered to last.
The worst is try get hold of uber eats when you have an order problem... u can't
Mr D has been good for me. Also find them cheaper.
I uninstalled the uber eats app last week because I got tired of pop-ups knowing I have to pay an exorbitant price to get warm food.

Firstly if you havent seen COME FLY WITH ME....you should

Although this clip isnt good, it reminds me of Uber Priority

So if you want to board before everyone, you have to get a Speedy boarding pass. So at the end when the old lady asks them, have you sold many of these today, the booking lady answers. Yes to everyone on the flight.

So in all honesty, if everyone pays more for priority delivery on Uber Eats, would it really be worthwhile? Because you will get it the same time as before, however you will simply pay more for the same service.

Honestly stupid in this instance really.

KFC is stupid in some cases. ie I get discount for delivery but it will take them 45 minutes to deliver.....200m away from my house. Yip 200m. So I skip those discounts and just walk myself.

Uninstalled uber and mr D a few months ago. Food arrives ice cold and scrambled unless you pay the blackmail. Rather just buy a crap load and freeze, you’ll have to microwave the uber junk in any case so same same. I am never using food delivery services again.

Pro tip: keep snacks in the house for when you’re too wasted to drive.
