Ubuntu 24.04.4 LTS release

After testing Ubuntu out on an old family laptop, the main reason I opted for Fedora on my personal gaming and productivity desktop was because of Ubuntu's buggy and frustrating fork of Gnome Software. Seeing as their new in-house software centre seems to be one of the major improvements in 24.04, I'm considering switching my desktop at some point. What have been people's experience using the new software app?

I've got Ubuntu 24.04 on my primary desktop at home - rock solid so far with no issues.
Running Fedora 38-->39-->40 on laptop which has been ok but not great; flatpack's are a lucky packet and upgrades have been very problematic (installed FortiClient for VPN which completely broke upgrades)

News item on my 22.04 Software Updater (first time I've seen them use this feature) ;

OpenSSH CVE-2024-6387 has been fixed for 22.04 LTS, 23.10 and 24.04 LTS.

^^ A few minor installation issues, one major one:

1. A couple of Apps needed to be reinstalled.
2. VLC Player stopped working as well, but struggled to get it working after reinstalled. Others have complained about this as well. My eventual solution was to use the ubuntu-noble-universe (Deb) version (last in the source list options - at the top of the Snap installation page).
3. The system Restart option wouldn't work at first until I used Ctrl+Alt+Delete. Later somewhat fixed itself.
4. Snap Store trying to update itself, so far unsuccessfully. Typical... :- (
Edit: 'Fixed' by uninstalling, then reinstalling via terminal.
5. When checking, some extra software updates were initially needed after main install.

Easy to do, my first machine ( i3 PC) took less than an hour (included getting 2GB with my 20Mbps).
The GUI is hardly changed so an easy adaption.
