For those of you who are running Ubuntu(Gnome) and would like to test out Kubuntu(KDE) simply run the following command in terminal :
sudo apt-get install kubuntu-desktop
The download will be roughly 170MB.
Once downloaded and installed, logout and in the session drop down menu select KDE and login. Once done with Kubuntu logout and select Ubuntu. It's quite nice having both installed if you want to play around with both desktop environments. You won't lose any of your data this way.
And if you are running Kubuntu you could install Ubuntu(Gnome) with the nearly the same command :
sudo apt-get install ubuntu-desktop
Enjoy
