Ok, I am not ready to give up just yet.
I bought a second PC just to play around with Ubuntu and quickly realized that I am rather dof as I cannot for the life of me figure out how to install the E270 on Ubuntu.
All the forums I ask for help I get messages like run, od^%^&*asjk???!!!
wvdial, doobian then you go to *&^%^ and install ???? and run this etc. etc.

You get my drift, it makes no sense for a 43 year old average Windows XP user.

Is there a step by step guide out there or someone that can explain it to me in small words? :erm: please?

Got it

Got it!! It was sooo friggin easy, you simply click on the top right hand of the screen Wireless Icon and then click on the Huawei card and it installs itself!:D

ja, the new ubuntu is very easy to install data cards on, my E160G installed in a fraction of the time it takes to install on Vista.

/facepalm :D

Hi Solly,

If it works the same my data card did just plug it in, wait a minute or so. The on the top right of the screen click on the small icon that looks like a network strength indicator. You will see the name of your data card in the drop down lit. Underneath it it should show a "Connect" link. Click on this an bobs your uncle.

If it does not connect your data card might have the habit of installing itself as a USD card or CD ROM. When that happens click on My Computer, look for a USD or CD ROM. Right click on it and "Unmount". This will remove it as a USB or CD Rom. Your data card should now connect.

Wow mime, you already sound like a linux pro! :)

Have fun and explore!
