UK airplanes plot an attempt at 'mass murder'

The US is looking after itself, it's financial future - 100 000 civillian lives won't stop them going in the direction they are headed and that is a war with Iran.

read up on the Iranian Oil Bourse...

Now pay close attention to how often Iran is linked to every terrorist organistion out there. CNN / SKY NEWS / Every White House speech mentions Iran on a near daily basis - the same way Iraq was mentioned in the build up to the "pre-emptive strike" against WMD. Bush's comment on the Israel-Lebanon war... "We can only imagine how much more dangerous this conflict would be if Iran had the nuclear weapon it seeks."

Iran! When most of the hi-jackers on board the planes that crashed into the World Trade centres were from Saudi Arabia and the latest in the UK are from Pakistan. What a joke. Watch Syriana - it's a crap movie but based on real events and it applies directly to Iran.

Israeli occupation and humiliation of Arabs in 'Palestine' and it's influence on Lebanon creates the conditions for terrorism (Desmond Tutu) and Bush & Blair invite more resistance with their blanket support for Israel. A war on terror is propogated and a convenient excuse to invade Iraq and it will be a convientient excuse to attack Iran.

The only ones who hate our freedoms are the likes of Bush, Blair and their supporters. They have gleefully jumped on every opportunity to destroy freedoms that were won in the past with blood and hardship.

Sadly the people are so busy cowering in their little hovels that they don't realise the terrorists have already won. If their goal was to attack and destroy freedom they have achieved their aims.

Blood and Hardship that people like you exacerbated through pacifism. Every time the West comes under threat the same old excuses seem to pop up.All of them too avoid taking firm action that will require the above mentioned blood and hardship.

Taking necessary precautions is not cowering. Cowering is ignoring threats in the hope that it is some sort of fanciful goverment conspiracy.

Let's be clear - from this thread - and others running currently - it is "some sort of fanciful government conspiracy."

If the pacifists were running the world there wouldn't be any wars would there? As to the hitlers of this world - he invaded countries on a policy of expansionism - it is a prime tenet of pacifists, ie, do not fight wars beyond your borders - and exert your might to fight any who do.

As to the pre-emptive strike scenario - plain fact: 9/11 has major drive through holes in it - but upon this we base a universe of pre-emptive strikes. Israel similar story.

If it wasn't for the power mongers in this world - it would be a better place - Thank You Very Much!

Firstly anything that comes out of Hollywood can not be taken seriously. What runs Hollywood is money. You know the thing that the White House is supposedly only interested in. They will create any "fact" as long as it sells.

Secondly Iranian backed Hizbollah was responsible for one of the biggest terrorist attacks on the U.S pre 9\11. Do you really want to take the chance that they could get nuclear weapons.

uneducated/'voting on emotion'
Uneducated? No. Voting on emotion? Yes.

Being literate is not the same as being educated. A 6 year old can read.
Educated is not the same as not being stupid.

In the US and UK a large proportion of the population do not vote. Difficult to differentiate one lying slimebag from the next.

Your freedoms? I take it you're British or American? Who's blood was spilled and who toiled through the hardships?

This shouldnt surprise anyone but there has been a one world power or another since the history was first written. Frankly - better the devil you know.

True the world is not run by pacifists and never will be. The reason is because there will always be those who will use violence to subjugate others.

Whether you like it or not, to ensure western style democracy the use at times, of violence too eliminnate them will be necessary.

British ! Well one of them would be my father (died two years ago) he fought through Singapore, Burma and onto Japan. Anytime you wish to see the medals, I will oblige
Got photographs? I'd love to see them. I admire anyone who is willing to fight for their country.

I still qn noxibox's use of the term 'our'.

Western Style democracy... what's that? Is it big business pretending to be ordinary everyday folk? Is it the greed that fuels wars and the huge profits to be made from rebuilding a country you destroy by controlling out-sourcing? Is it changing the Iraq oil trade currancy back to the US dollar even though it means a 13% drop in profits for Iraq? Is it Lockheed Martin's campaign contributions financing political appointments maturing into becoming billion dollar contracts? Fear-mongering? Propaganda?

Hmmm... violence seems like the most profitable choice, so why not.

Better yet read the book.

If I was Iranian I would be working as fast as possible to develop nuclear weapons and the rockets necessary to deliver them to the US. It is the only means to deter them from attacking. All countries in the region should be co-operating to get a nuclear arsenal assembled. And long range rockets are essential - the US will not attack if they know you can toast them from afar.

The US government is well aware that Saudi Arabia has provided assistant to terrorists, but they're on good business terms with that country's leaders so they are unlikely to attack them.

Being literate at 6 certainly indicates that the person will be educated unless something strange/out-of the ordinary happens.

If they arn't uneducated can you please tell me why:

A: The majority of the country believes ANC propaganda? (Example - N2 Gateway Project - people still live in hope they'll get a house even after all these years!)
B: They can't see what a corrupt and incompetent this present govt is?

What pacifism?

The 'west' is not under threat.

Let's take firm action then. No-one has yet taken any actual action that can or is even intended to prevent terrorism.

No cowering is hiding away. Like what happened in the US when everyone hid in their homes terrified there terrorists around every corner out to get them. Cowering is the fear and hysteria in the UK, when being killed in a terrorist attack remains a very unlikely event. Not cowering is going about life anyway, refusing to give any freedom - doing so would be a resounding victory for those who perpetrate terror attacks.

Libertarianism and anarchism would take the same attitude. Don't punch your neighbour in the face because he can just punch you back.

There's I will not ever fight under any circumstances and there's I'll defend my home and country against real attacks, but I will not fight in some proxy war or a nebulous endless so-called war on terrorism. (You'd actually think it would somehow eventually sink in that terrorists cannot be beaten by known means that could be referred to as war - they thrive on this conflict)

By the pre-emptive strike logic that Arab countries were right to want to attack Israel decades ago. Lebanon should have attacked them first. Iran should build nuclear weapons and launch them at the US as soon as possible.

The UK could never have beaten the IRA, South Africa had no chance of beating the ANC, the Israelis will never defeat the PLO or Hizbollah.

From this article...

"The most recent, and by far the most troubling, was an article in The American Conservative by intelligence analyst Philip Giraldi. His article, “In Case of Emergency, Nuke Iran,” suggested the resurrection of active U.S. military planning against Iran – but with the shocking disclosure that in the event of another 9/11-type terrorist attack on U.S. soil, Vice President **** Cheney’s office wants the Pentagon to be prepared to launch a potential tactical nuclear attack on Iran – even if the Iranian government was not involved with any such terrorist attack against the U.S.:

The Pentagon, acting under instructions from Vice President **** Cheney's office, has tasked the United States Strategic Command (STRATCOM) with drawing up a contingency plan to be employed in response to another 9/11-type terrorist attack on the United States. The plan includes a large-scale air assault on Iran employing both conventional and tactical nuclear weapons. Within Iran there are more than 450 major strategic targets, including numerous suspected nuclear-weapons-program development sites. Many of the targets are hardened or are deep underground and could not be taken out by conventional weapons, hence the nuclear option. As in the case of Iraq, the response is not conditional on Iran actually being involved in the act of terrorism directed against the United States. Several senior Air Force officers involved in the planning are reportedly appalled at the implications of what they are doing – that Iran is being set up for an unprovoked nuclear attack – but no one is prepared to damage his career by posing any objections.[11]"

A: The majority of the country believes Republican propaganda? (Apparently since they voted them into power)
B: They can't see how corrupt and incompetent is their present government?

Only people who attend good quality schools will become educated.

I said a 6 year old can be literate therefore being literate does not indicate much. For all I know these literate people in Australia take 12 years to learn to read D1ck and Jane.

Which attack?

Eric Robert Rudolph, Theodore Kaczynski, Terry Nichols, Timothy McVeigh. Just a few homegrown terrorists. At least one a Christian fanatic.

Iran needs nuclear weapons and they must develop them to protect themselves from US aggression. I'd rather no-one had nuclear weapons, but it's hardly like the countries that do are not keeping them.

Go read a history book. The freedom that existed in the US did not magically appear overnight.
You said 'our' - what role did you play in that history?
