Amazing how many black people in SA deny the existence of HIV/Aids.... don't these mothers of fathers realise that their ignorance and STUPIDITY is killing their children? Some of these idiots are convinced that Aids is a 'white man's lie'..... as they sit by and watch their children die (from 'tb', from 'respiratory failure', from 'pneumonia', from 'flu').
Not to turn this into a race discussion, but you brought it up, do you have any proof to back up your sweeping statement?

With the right medication, a person with HIV could live a decent life, however once it progresses to AIDS then you have to take care not to contract the opportunistic infections, like TB, which end up killing you becuase your body is utterly defenseless.

You have to look at the numbers here. Ignore the fact that we're talking about human beings here and just focus on the fact that this disease is helping to decrease the overpopulation.
I know this might be a touchy subject, but the world is grossly overpopulated. Diseases are nature's way of restoring the balance.
You are basing your assumption on there be being no more new infections, which is IMO the real problem.
As long as people refuse to either condomise, be faithful to each other in a relationship if they don't use a condom, or abstain from sex altogether, you will always have this desease to deal with.
Are you going to be popping that cork when a family member receives tainted blood after an accident? Or if your partner has an affair and passes the disease on to you? Probably easier focusing on the faceless 5 million isnt it.
Celebrating the death of millions might come easy to you but I like to believe the rest of us are a bit more civilised.

And it doesn't help matters that there are brainless corrupt SABS officials letting defective condoms be distributed to the public. To top it off, the condoms weren't even disposed of properly and ended up in the open in some township.
