unblocking blocked ears

now I don't know if this is part sinus or hay fever but I just can't get my ears open (for 7/8 weeks)
I'm able to pop it now and then but one sniff and it's blocked again
so now my hearing is becoming a problem

is there any safe way to get it cleared or some pharmaceutical remedy one can trust to do the job?
 
I read baby oil (on the Internet!) and tried it once ... it worked and I'm not deaf yet
 
Try sniffing olbas oil, blocked ears is often caused by stuffy sinuses.

This does work, that's assuming it's earwax causing the blockage. Olive oil also works well, I've used that.

Best is too put some in your ears with cotton wool plugs to keep it in there, just before you go to sleep, leave it in there overnight.

But considering it's both ears T the same time it may be something else like sinus issues etc, but I'd give the oil a go, can't hurt.
 
Perhaps it's time to pop into the gp and get them syringed. I had mine done at my last medical. Took 10 minutes. Easy peasy.
 
I had an infection last year that blocked my ears. Tried baby oil and other oils to try fix it. It just made it worse. Turns out I had some form of swimmer's ear, not the usual kind. Doc gave meds that sorted it out

Yeah still cheaper to try Waxsol and then go to doctor if need be that straight to the doctor only for them to tell you to use Waxsol first.
 
Peroxide ftw only 10% if there's a blockage
However it's allergy season and pollen grasses molds and chemical spraying of certain crops create blocked passages
Use a saline nasal spray like sterimar and irrigate
Decongestant sprays and pills will unblock but you will suffer the inevitable rebound effect which
Brings you back to square one when you cease using decongestants but only for a day or 3
Some parts of the country are very dry eg parts of the cape so irrigate and keep hydrated
Invest in a netti pot !

I agree: The netti pot works wonders for me.

Can I ask why you include a disclaimer at the end of your post ?
 
From personal experience:

Lukewarm water in a bucker, use a syringe and gently blast into your ear.
Then use an ear candle afterwards.

So you blast your eardrum with a syringe and then stick a burning tube in it...? :wtf:

Go to a doctor before you injure yourself. I once tried the oil, which I got from a pharmacy. It made it much worse, completely blocked the ear. Was weird only being able to hear on one side. Had to go to the doc anyway.
