unblocking blocked ears

So you blast your eardrum with a syringe and then stick a burning tube in it...? :wtf:

Oh hells no.

Sometimes drastic measures are all that works... first had it done by a doctor before doing it myself. Haven't had a problem since.

Medical advice on an it tech forum again

Can I ask why you include a disclaimer at the end of your post ?

Cause I don't want to get lynched offering meds on a tech forum.?

Nah it's because some poor soul will carry out all the suggestions in no particular order ie
Someone will have blocked ears then remember or google this thread
Then they ll pour a bottle of baby oil In the offending ear
Then they ll add 40% peroxide
Finally they ll jab a flaming candle into the whole foaming mess
And use a netti pot to extinguish the flames...
Then they ll start a thread saying we re all Knunts

Somehow I doubt that a real doctor would recommend an ear candle.

If your doctor [still] recommends the practice of ear candling then you should probably find yourself a new doctor.

Nah, the earcandle was my own choice of pseudoscience - doubt it was all that useful, but simply did it to help dry out the situation after pushing the water in there :o

If you sniffing and your ears are blocking again it's sinus related. Go and see a decent ENT and he/she will sort it out.

Use a Ryobi with a number 6 concrete drill, put it on slowest setting. Very important. Add some olive oil to the drill bit (to disinfect it). Put your head flat on a pillow and let the weight of the drill gently do its work..... In other words go get some advice from a doctor.

Yes, this is actually what a doctor does(He might use a lot bigger syringe). I have been doing it myself for 2 years. Then got a shower head with different settings. Now I just choose the setting that thrusts 1 stream of water into the year about once a month. works like a charm

This is the only good way to clean your ears. Never stick anything in your ears like ear buds.

No, a doctor will irrigate the ear with a pressure considerably less than the term blasting is usually associated with. The trick is not to pound the eardrum with water, fortunately that is an unlikely possibility with a shower head from outside the ear.

What I am doing is actually what the doctor told me to do in future. His exact words "Take you shower head off if you do not have a single stream setting and let the water pump into your ear, thats the only way to clear the ear. Only use luke warm water". I will rather take the doctors advice thank you unless you can send me your medical certifications.

As my doctor said, never stick anything sharper than your elbow into your ear.
