Can anyone tell me where to buy an uncapped account from. I have a 4mbps line and fine myself going through 120Gigs local per month, Whats with the speed restrictions on international accounts would buying an uncapped 384kbps account restrict my max download speed to 384kbps?

I know that IS (Internet Solutions) offers business ADSL (uncapped) for about R1800. With this you get 5 static IP addresses.

Oops, my bad. I just checked From my control panel & didn't see it there.

does "IS ADSL Uncapped 512k" mean max 512k speed?? cos i got a 4mb an i lookin for 4mb uncapped..

may sound like a dumb question but i went here http://www.webafrica.co.za/adsl/is_uncapped/ and hovered over the 512k speed tab and it said:

"The speed is limited by your physical line speed on the Telkom ADSL line. Thus 384kb users will have max 384kb available while 512 users will have 512kbs "

so does that mean if i have 4mb this uncapped account will be 4mb speed?

thx

I have the 1024Kbps uncapped over fibre account with IS. My line is 4Mb, but the speed on my uncapped sits at exactly 1024Kbps permanently. So the speeds they indicate for the uncapped accounts with static IP addresses are actually what you are limited to, regardless of line speed. The express uncapped accounts are allowed to "burst" to your full line speed. Until you reach your threshold, of course.

Hope that helps....
