Uncapped ADSL and gaming

I have a 384 upcapped account from Mweb and its been fine so far for C&C4.
 
Never had any issues on the unshaped offerings. The shaped ones are probably not great.
 
Generally, latency seems to be far far better on the faster lines. Some people get around 5ms on their 4Meg lines.
 
your not allowed to download steam games from Steam on a Afrihost Uncapped account according to Edward from Afrihost.

Haven't seen mybb advertising (advertorial) for WebAfrica for a while ;)

Title should be: Rheeder-Kleist on WebAfrica's Offerings. As ADSL and gaming is a bit misleading ;)

While the points may be valid for some cheap uncapped options, there are many other products out there other than WA's that can do the job too :p

Game BFBC2, counterstrike, killing floor and other fps on shaped mweb fine local, ping is about 220-300 international , well within norms.

Eve works perefectly fine with the shaped account as well.

*edit* Can someone who uses the unshaped "premium" international bandwidth post your pings please. I would like to see how much difference it truely is in pure ms as although you may get priority traffic, the sad fact of the matter is the sheer distance involved.

i get about 11ms ping to the mweb server and about 9ms to webafrica

im using the web africa 30gig
 
Does anyone have information on the minimum speed/latency required per game? For example, Killzone 2 and Wipeout HD work on a 384K uncapped shaped line, while Resistance 2 and Tekken 5 and 6 require a 4MB line
 
I'm on a 384kbps line and I have the 30 gig MyBB account from WA.. My latency to the local servers for BFBC2 is in the 200 range..

Mine is usually 130 - 170 and then on some weird evenings its sometimes 400-600

Its amazing how many WA haters there are on MyBB. So what if they are featured on the front page?

I'm sure a lot of people would agree with me but WA are probably the best for international online gaming. I've tried basically every ISP and have not found one that performs as well as they do.

For playing national online games there ain't much difference for most ISPs.

Honestly, its becoming so fcking stupid having to read through all these spam comments each time there something about WA on MyBB.
