Uncapped ADSL with the works

Because that's exactly what people are looking for, more bundled **** that no-one wants to help justify a needless increase in cost.

Well, they aren't forcing this on all consumers - more like bundling a decent SMME solution, based on what makes sense in that segment.

I don't see the point of this article. It didn't say anything concrete, except that they plan to launch "something" "sometime" in the future. Wasted time and bits.

The point or purpose of this article is to get people talking about the services they want to have. This way IS can appear to be innovative (when they take our ideas) and not have to pay someone to come up with ideas.

Do you know more about the IS VPN service, who offers them, cost etc.

Again with the bells and whistles... I like whistles, I can make noise wiff a whistle, and I can be liking bells wiff ice.

i'll pass for uncapped IS. as soon as you hit "their" top 10 and top 20 they throttle the "service" so badly you can even surf properly anymore. so no thanks.

Or you can sell a kidney and get unshaped uncapped :p

Come on Rpm this article is like saying: Yay I'm sleeping with another prostitute tonight, I just don't know what she looks like.

Because paying for voice isn't fun any more, please give me more services to pay for when all I want is DSL....

On a lighter note, bundle some decent services with the 4mb/s + services like the ability to stream series on demand, I'll pay with a smile.

So the question is how long until FNB do a bundled business package? That would be more attractive (if they can also offer decent quality bandwidth for this) than IS who really aren't interested in SMEs.

FNB have the IPC and APN infrastructure for ADSL and mobile data already, they have an online accounting package which I am sure they could easily extend to a CRM/Sales tool as well and then there is already the VOIP system. Pretty much a sweet SME bundle, just throw in some Payroll and consulting services (maybe a free call centre for basic business help) and you are pretty sorted.

IS will most likely try to charge a lot and then shape the daylights out of the connection to offset all the other stuff they have bundled.

I would like to see someone put a little money behind a Linux PC "business in a box" it would make sense for a SME package - just add all the free tools out there and make a nice glossy user guide and you win big time, can even add some remote support options - sure ISPs can handle that pretty easily. Works even better if the data is backed up online automatically. Throw in a SME business portal and you have a community as well.

This all relates to Telkom charging us too much to use ADSL (Line + ADSL Line).

With 8ta now that offers really good broadband packages, i wouldn't be suprised if people are flocking to 8ta from ADSL.

I think if NADSL had to happen, (ICASA should be working to get this) then ADSL wouldnt be declining.
