Hi there

I need some advice. Is there any South African service that offers uncapped DSL access?

I have a current ADSL 512 connection on a WIFI network and I wish to make it an open access area for anyone that comes into my office area with multiple logins.

Does anyone know who offers uncapped ADSL on these terms?

Many thanks

Hey,

We offer 512k Uncapped ADSL, 1 concurrent ADSL line connection, NO Setup Fee, Month to Month contract, Use your own router for only R1369.

More info: http://www.openweb.co.za/specials

Kind regards
MrBEEP

There are numerous ISP's offering uncapped DSL, most of them are just reselling the IS product, so what you want to look for is a company with good support.

As far as I've heard on these forums Openweb's support is outstanding... have a chat to Mr Beep, he'll beable to sort you out ;)

im looking for uncapped too, but with 2 or more concurrent connections, so we can share ... any isp with that?

Hi there,

We offer a variety of Uncapped ADSL solutions (some are IS products but we do also offer our own Uncapped solutions).

Our pricing starts from R890 (Ex VAT) per month for a 384k account and we also have 512k (R1,090 ex VAT per month) and 1024k (R2,180 ex VAT per month) options. There is a setup fee of R850 (Ex VAT).

None of these accounts allow P2P traffic (whereas the more expensive IS solutions that we offer do allow it). These accounts are all available on month-to-month contracts, but you do need to use the router provided by us. They also allow only 1 connection at a time (ie : no concurrent connections).

You can take a look at our Uncapped offerings at :
http://www.imagine-ips.co.za/za/p28.html
And the IS powered Uncapped offerings at :

Hope that helps!

It's not ucapped it's a 30GB ten day rolling account story... i.e. you're only alowed to do a maximum of 10GB in 10 days, and 30GB in a month.

I can give you a true 30GB per month account at R1500.00. with 4 concurrent connections. (no contract) on SAIX's more reliable network rather than IS's.

how is "uncapped" then in the "package" then ... , anyway i can get a uncapped on 96k or 128k, or maby 192k ....

I spoke to DATAPRO today and they do offer an uncapped solution for about R1400 per month and so do Lantic at the same price. You have to sign a 24 month contract and they instal their own router. I asked if the price drops will it be changed accordingly and they said that there is no guarantee. So I would say a bit risky if the prie drops and you stuckin for 24 months at that rate.

What every you do don't sign with Datapro, they're just IS resellers and thier service is pathetic!

I can give you a string of instances the length of my arm, or you could just search the thread.

As I said they're just reselling the IS product, which IS sell themselves at R1350 a month.

Thanks for the info ! It is crazy what we go through as consumers in South Africa for such a simple commodity like how much we can download. Quite ridiculous !

you can't really it Uncapped if you are limited from doing any p2p or the like - its just not uncapped!. - nothanks.

Does the phrase
ISP's shall not be allowed to impose port prioritisation on their subscribers
ring a bell?

What would be the total cost of uncapped 512 then if you include the telkom line & rentals etc...like R2000-00pm?...and could you really dwnld 100gigs p2p with an IS openweb acc?
