Anyone know of alternatives to Rain? Currently use rain uncapped off-peak but I absolutely hate the fact that I lose reception when I go into a mall or even walk in the CBD at times. Looking for something similarly priced and month-to-month obviously as I hate contracts.

It works very well for the price. There's an FUP of 10Mbps for the first 250GB, 4Mbps for the next 50GB, and 2Mbps for the rest of the month...

I don't understand these packages that only give you data from midnight. I mean... who stays up & waits until midnight to surf the web/stream/download/YouTube/etc??? What am I missing?

Some people schedule downloads to start and stop at certain times, so they don't have to be awake.

It's more relevant to Anytime / Night packages, for example :

EDIT - link should work now :

I usually see to my downloads manually when I wake up during Night data times.

But I think what your question revolves around in the 1st place, is why is it offered ?

Primarily for those who are cost sensitive, like myself, and prepared or forced to make concessions by making do with peak hours being taken away, for which they charge considerably more on these uncapped deals.

Also, can be a backup for those on fibre that covers a majority of the day, at a very reasonable cost in their view.

Any number of reasons ; I've often considered switching to it, but for now am getting all that's needed from capped LTE.

Thanks so much. First part answered my question. I'm also cost sensitive. I just didn't realise that downloads could be scheduled. Have had the good fortune for the last many years of having a very reasonably priced uncapped LTE service (not day/night restricted) but that's no longer the case. Have lost touch with alternatives over those years. Thanks again.
