The only thing I have against your crusade Wickedweasel is that you talk ex vat. Salespeople who talk ex vat went out along with dinosaurs. Dont confuse people and make it sound more attractive than it really is. We want to know how much it is that we have to take from our pockets. We dont want to do math. And Im not the first person to raise this with you. At the end of the day you just draw annimosity from the consumers on here who, out of spite, wont touch your isp with ol' Zuma's piel. suppose you don't know theres a thing called whole salers...
for example all rectron's prices are excluding vat.

OpenWeb has and always will be innovative, and have better pricing. Its called being able to negotiate.

I cannot believe that a representative from a competing ISP would blatantly insult my company brand on a public forum. You have alot to learn about professionalism, thats for sure.

You WILL retract this statement, or I will take further action.

Now if you give everything away for free, at the end of the day, can you hire support people etc, you cannot add any value without making money. I would rather buy a service where someone makes something as then they have something to loose. if you dont make money off an account "if you loose it" well who cares ?

All Express accounts use Sattelite bandwidth, so gamming works but is not ideal.

Competition in the ISP sector looks healthy. :D

OpenWeb rocks and I doubt they're selling below cost price - I've had excellent support from them (Mr Beep and Equinox) the couple of times that I needed to ask anything.

Now all we need is the same sort of competition in the land line sector ...

Have to say the statement did seem rather unreasonable. Even if Openweb did offer the accounts as some sort of advertising loss leader their service by all accounts on the forum is very good.

And no I don't have any connection with Openweb.

Please - they're targeting myadsl users - not wholesalers. Did you happen to notice the iPod competition and an emphasis on p2p, gaming and newsgroups on the site?

I'm also pretty sure that this is not the first time a request has been made for vat inclusive prices to be given. I know they're not as attractive looking but thats the price the majority of us would have to pay.

Lets get the following straight: I said, "if a ISP sells below cost, how would they continue to run, and provide support" do they get free food and lodging. If you would like to take it further, please feel free to do so as it is your constitutional right. and so is free speech. Our prices are quoted ex vat. but we make that clear on our website. however I will amend that to include VAT.
 
I have been with Openweb for a while now, and i must say that the service is Perfectly fine... I have never ever tried the phone service just because emailing is a lot easier, but yes they reply and help you very quick..

OpenWeb FTW !!!!

I dont get why people quote stuff without VAT, because in the end you are forced to pay that VAT... So ye just include it so we can see the true price.. Its a lot better..
 
@ Freaksta. That was exactly what I was trying to point out and then some lil chomper above tried to bite my head off lol. Its slightly misleading as the "wonderful" price you see is not the price you pay. Inc vat FTW :)

Hehe I love it when people get out of line, rising blood pressure is not that bad a thing!

Anyway I've been with openweb for a long time now ( ever since WebAfrica Stopped the R199 30gig accounts, wasn't their fault damn telkom!)

Anyway Mr.Beep has always tried to go the extra mile for all his customers! I have paid him late on a couple of occasions (not on purpose! :) ) but he always helped me setup my account and get me back online! They offer innovative services at very good prices!

This entire thread has moved so far from the original topic, that people are starting to attack one another!

To the WickedWeasel, sorry man but, you didn't do it in the correct way, your service is more expensive, period. Don't go and take on Openweb with unfair remarks, yes this is an open forum and our constitution does allow for freedom of speech but within the confines of, well our constitution you can say what you want but not at the expense of any other person or in this case company!

So accept defeat and go back to the drawing board and come up with something better, cheaper and more "innovative" Then post again! This is how business works!

And please in future publish both excluding and including vat prices, it is a simple but tiresome calculation for end users to make!

Now we can all relax again! :cool:

I agree with HaNsA.

Lets throw this into the pot for the weekend:

OpenWeb has got a cr*p billing system and no accounting people but himself(MrBeep).
OpenWeb has got no after hours support or weekend support.

WickedWeasel can't negotiate better pricing for his customers.
WickedWeasel still lives with his parents and gets free rent because his company is funded by his mom & dad. :sick:

Anybody can make up things on these forums but it should not be taken personal unless it's true (hint hint).
Yes it might hurt your company names but then again who in there right mind will beleave what is said 99% of the time in a public forum :eek:

PS: An equinox in astronomy is the event when the Sun can be observed to be directly above the equator (Day time).
