Uncapped services

Okay,

I can see that people have quite opposite opinions here.

Reason why i need uncapped is mainly due to the fact that we are 3 people living together, and all play different games and do different things on the net. If i would have to changle dsl accounts every 3gigs id go insane and if i had to measure every MB used to determine whos gonna pay what id kill myself too.

The budget we set together incl telkom is a maximum and obviously id prefer if it were a bit cheaper.

Most of the providers ive seen thus far are IS backboned, and some people say that they have good experiences and others dont. I rang IS again and unfortunately the guy i had on the phone did not even know what data retention was, and i specifically asked him if the monitored the uncapped accounts, wich according to him they dont. (Bearing in mind that he is a sales person and wants his commision :) )

PS: I cant find any Uncapped SAIX Services on Openweb`s site ? Any other companies doing SAIX ?

You could just setup the router in bridged mode, and let everyone get their own ISP accounts?

@ Bondizzo;

Im looking at their services page now, but i cant help thinking that there is a snake in the grass. Do you actually have this Product from them ? I mean they do make a few bold statements in their pdf about XDSL Uncapped.

@MrG

Are you sure that this wil work ? We live there with 4 guys and tbh im not sure that this would work. I have been working in the DSl field for a few years (in EU that is) and it doesnt seem effective, but i could be wrong :)

Thats what i mean, it doesnt add up, not at all!

Up until now my best shot still seems like Imagine...

Hi Catapract. We split a 1024kb into 768kb local and 256kb International. you can increase in 64k increments at + R200 per 64k (int). We make this clear as we do not want problems with customers once they have signed up.

Told u there was something not right!

Anyways, all in all i think im better of with an IS solution, im setting up my own VPN with the servers i still have running in Amsterdam. This should result in a somewhat stable latency with most games.

It works like a charm. I have 3 different dial-up connections running through my router, each a different ISP. If the router is in bridged mode it is simply a modem, which allows many network connections. I have had absolutely no problems doing it this way.

Hmmz okay, but looking at the amounts of data im expected to be transferred i dont think it would be a good idea to have it like this. If it was only me id do it but seeing that its 4 of us just plain uncapped would do the trick.

Like i said, i think Imagine has the best offer that ive seen up until now.
