Unexpected TV replacement

Cool story. Except I have a large lounge and my couches are a decent distance from the TV.

A 65" TV is basically a bare minimum, so I'm in for at least R40k for an LG OLED (CS3).

Explain to me how that is in the parameters of my original post? Better yet, convince me that I need to spend that R40k and I'll do so.
No one in their right mind actually pays that much for a fancy tv, you get them on special in July in Durban

Pity the A8H is hard to come by, there is a Toshiba oled that is around 17k but it's more like the A8G no 120hz
Though I've not really used 120hz much on my A8H
I mean this was going for 10k
Did the A8H come in 65"? https://www.takealot.com/hisense-55-a8h-120hz-4k-smart-oled-tv-with-dolby-vision-hdr10/PLID91721211

So my Hisense Q8600 packed up and I'm being credited as its still under warranty, but can't be replaced as its EOL

Now what do I get to replace it?

Use case:
  • Streaming
  • PS5 (needs to handle a 4K 120 signal and have VRR)
  • Needs to be 65" (or larger)
  • Sound not important as I have a decent home theater setup already
  • OS not important as it will have a media PC connected at all times
Budget: I'll get R16k back, but I'm willing to push the budget to R20k-ish

Options (so far):
  • Hisense U7K (tough to find in 65")
  • Hisense U8K (55" is cheap, but 65" is way more expensive at the moment)
  • TCL C755 (not sure what major differences are between this and the C845)
  • TCL C845 (not sure what major differences are between this and the C755)

one bit of advice i will give you since you say the O/S is not important but you want streaming capability - just add around R1k extra away from the price of the actual TV away for a streaming TV box like a Netogy Nova or a Mi Box S (2nd Gen) since the newest models add so much more functionality and multimedia and audio capability for people with good home theater equipment - no TV will match these for all of that (not even with the same O/S) and the TV box will have better processors and GPUs to stream and act as a media player for locally stored files from your PC (connected via your home network) for example proper 4k playback including for DV (Dolby Vision) and HDR10+

when the box that you buy becomes outdated - you can spend around R1k again to replace it and it isnt as expensive to replace as a R20k TV would be on its own ;) - IMHO you can keep on replacing the box and using the same TV for at least the next 10 years or so, no matter how many technology paradigm shifts there are

Now if only Hisense would actually credit me...guess I could just buy it and use the TA credit for other stuff later.
Have they confirmed the amount they crediting?
