DStv launches Universal+ streaming service

The Universal+ streaming service launches today, 14 October 2022, in partnership with DStv, and it is free to access for DStv subscribers in South Africa.

NBC Universal and DStv first announced that the Universal+ streaming service would launch in partnership with DStv on 1 September 2022.

How long before Universal+ realises that the market is bigger if they bail from the DSTV thing I wonder.

Also this "channel" level content thing just seems like a backwards idea that was implemented by DSTV not Universal+

Judging by that screenshot of their content, they can keep it. It's been bliss browsing for stuff to watch without sifting through all the reality crap...

Until they start charging and automatically adds it to customer bills

Ahhh then the argument changes entirely, and DSTV confirms that evil incompetent label they've managed to create over the last decade.

OK, but how is this accessed? Decoder? DSTv streaming-thingy? Separate login? ?? ??
Will it work on my Linux computer?

I asked MC. They don't know
Was on hold for 30 mins speaking to 4 different people. Only the last one had heard of Universal Plus

“If you’re wondering why you can’t see some of the programmes on Universal+, that’s because the content is available for the channel brands that are included on your DStv package,” MultiChoice said in a statement.

I guess this tells me all I need to know at this stage

DSTV..Multichoice… a catalogue which speaks for itself, not interested, DSTV can fly a kite, bunch of Multitools.
