It's that time of the year where there are going to be a whole lot of roadblocks and the surfacing of the so called laws we have never heard of, I was shocked when I heard that you can be fined R750 for allowing a person to drive without obtaining that persons full particulars... another one R250 for a driver, intending to turn in any direction but failed to keep his/her indicator on for the required period of time... R100 for crossing road on foot by means of a pedestrian crossing or in any other manner, lingered on such road and did not proceed with due dispatch

What are the other UNKNOWN LAWS that the policing force is going to cash in on and that we have never even heard of before?

Many people don't seem to know that it is an offence to stay in the right lane on a highway.

It's an offence to drive with the cellphone in your hand not talking not texting as long as you have it in your hand you will be fined...

Pedal cyclist failed to yield the right of way to a pedestrian at a pedestrian crossing is R100 fine
Walked on a public roadway where a sidewalk or footpath abutted on the roadway that's R100 fine

It's an offence to drive with the cellphone in your hand not talking not texting as long as you have it in your hand you will be fined...
In fact, even on your lap.

"Operated a vehicle while a cellular or mobile telephone
was held in one or both hands or with any other part of
the body"

Incidentally:
"Used a cellular or mobile telephone or any other
communication device that was not affixed to the vehicle
or was not part of the fixture in the vehicle"

So what about bluetooth? Do I get fined for talking on my car kit while my phone is in my pocket?

Here's one:

"Operator of a motor cycle failed to drive in single file"

And for the taxis:
"Used a sounding device or hooter of vehicle when such use was not necessary in order to comply with the provisions of these regulations, or on the grounds of safety"

And here's one they really should enforce, although the usual result is a lot more stringent than the law prescribes:
"Was on a freeway on foot"

This one is pretty unknown in JHB:

"Failed to stop a vehicle in line with stop sign or behind stop line or proceeded before it was safe to do so. Vehicle that needs a RWC - Sect. 58(1)" - R750 - 2 points

Only R250 for not using indicators? ****, I hate bastards who don't use them or use them properly.
