UNKNOWN AARTO LAWS

if the cop was being otherwise....

This is the neatest summary of law enforcement that I have ever seen.

Nobody, from top to bottom, actually gives a toss about safer roads when it is so easy to collect cash from static cameras.

If a cop is in a bad mood he can find an excuse to nail a victim but for the most part they are happy to clock in each day and collect a salary at month end.

For the record... according to Howard Dembovsky, not having a number plate on a motorbike is a R500 fine.
Not having plates on a car is a criminal offence, no admission of guilt.

Law seems grey in this area IMHO.

And What do they exactly test during a Roadworthy?
I need to take a Series 3 land rover for a Road worthy early next year and want to be prepared.
Will probably need to put the roof back on. :p

It is an offence to drive a bus/minibus with no waterproof roof. Now explain that...

Speedometer not in good working order = R250

Vehicle not equipped with a speedometer = R500

Are there cars not equipped with speedometers?

I thought ours were a bit off but look at the one from Alabama!!!

It is an offence for a driver to be blindfolded while operating a vehicle.

Really now!!!

I am not sure about SA but in Alabama driving barefoot is illegal.
Are you a hillbilly ? :D

Anyways I've got a friend who drives around barefoot once in a while. Would it be a issue at a roadblock this summer?

In Arkansas it is illegal for a person to blare the horn on a vehicle at any place where cold drinks or sandwiches are served after 9 p.m.

Did that once! :D
Was part of a obstacle at a 4x4 track. You were blindfolded, and your navigator had to navigate you up the obstacle.
Quite interesting and hair raising. :D

In Pennsylvania

If you spy a team of approaching horses, you are required by law to pull to the side of the road and cover your car with a blanket or dust cover that has been painted or sewn to blend into the scenery. But, if the horses react skittish to your efforts, you are then required to disassemble your car and hide the parts in the nearby underbrush.

More importantly...how are they going to check that it isn't working when your vehicle is stationery upon being inspected by them at a road block?

No read this one...

In Kentucky

If you stop for ice cream while driving, be aware that it is considered unlawful to transport an ice cream cone in your back pocket.

WTF???
