From ther AUP...

7. Why do you want me to cancel my ADSL subscription with my other ISP?

A large number of support calls are originating from users who are using us as a secondary ISP. They can't remember how to configure their router to put in our ADSL account, or their email does not work when they use our ADSL account or the accelerator product of their primary ISP is causing our account not to work optimally. All these support calls are as a result of some configuration or program used by another ISP. Invariably these problems take substantially longer to fix, with the net effect that it increases our support cost. It is not fair to expect customers that are loyal to our brand to receive the same service as customers who are not. We will degrade your service should we find that you are using another ISP so that we can give better service to our loyal customers.

Only if you are asking for support for products from other ISP's or if you use non-standard configurations like Route Sentry.
They don't monitor IP's on their mail server for example to catch you out.
Why does everyone always get stuck on these T&C's? They should have a T&C for these T&C's: All noobs who don't understand what we mean with these T&C's can't join CyberSmart

Hmm... they changed their number 7......
When they first started I emailed them about this policy and they said that it has to do with yes, as mentioned above, config issues and conflicts between using more than one ISP.

Great input thanx... do you think that anyone ever that read your comment is going to like/benifit from it! WTF...

How do you suppose they are going to 'degrade my service' lol? that was what I was qurious about.

I understand the rasoning behind it, but the lay man on the street will just read: Use us exclusively or receive poor(er) service.

I think it is stupid to discriminate in service levels, it creates a lot of room for unreasonable unfair treatment.

That specific term might just chase away their customers that actually do use their ISP as a secondary.

I would think that fractionally higher support costs for more customers, even if they are secondary would be a profitable outlook.

I would be too happy as a business owner to put up a "how to" section on my website and welcome any form of customer. Sometimes those secondary customers are the ones that will eventually become your loyal subscribers.

I bet people who use more than one ISP (most probably for bandwidth splitting) are technologically clued up and know exactly why those terms are there.
