Hi All,

I apologise if this has been covered before, but I really couldn't find anything on the web about it. I just got myself UnoDns and netflix... Now I've manually setup the DNS on my PC, but I don't really want to go through this mission with all my consoles and TV, so I decided to setup the UnoDNS with my router. I set it all up, and the router accepted the settings but when I go to the UnoDNS test site, it says it hasn't been setup correctly... :(

I was wondering if anyone else has had the same issue? I have a TP-Link router, and couldn't find the "DHCP" settings as UnoTelly suggested, but I re-setup my router with the 2 closest IP's as the DNS servers... is this correct?

Thanks,
Munk :D

yup that should work fine. Just make sure your DNS settings on your PC are set to obtain automatically. Also reboot your router.

This is a programm on their website called UnoHelper - download that and run that if you are not sure.

I normally configure my moden and PC with the same DNS server (use a Dynamo DNS if you can).

Look for the "Qiuickstart" link and click on that. It should go green and show that you are conected and all is well.

I'm having this exact same problem - I can set up UnoDNS but I can't access Netflix on my Roku 3. I did a live chat with Roku 3 and they said that my IP shows me being in Cape Town and it is not set up correctly on my TP-Link but I cannot figure out what is wrong. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!

You need to refresh your DNS on your PC. If you don't know how to do that, reboot your pc. And make sure your DNS points to you router.

Thanks for all your advice...please help a newbie to unotelly. I have setup my windows pc (IPv4) to use dns server addresses on unotelly website...and it works on my pc. Is this all that's needed or do I need to change the dns addresses on my netgear router as well?

If you want to watch on your PC that's all you need to do.

If I add the Unotelly DNS address to my server which is running Sabnzb, sickbeard and coachpotato, will that effect my DL speed.

I don't want to add it to my router as I have done that before and my DL speeds dropped for all my devices.

I setup my Router with Unotelly's DNS settings with Unohelper installed.
I have never seen a decrease in download speeds due to using the Unotelly DNS.

I leave Unodns permanently on my router and haven't seen any decrease in speed. I do torrent though when I need something not on Netflix.

+1

Have had unotelly setup on my router for about a year and still download when I need and never have decreased speeds (other than when Telkom are tampering with the lines that is).

Any security issues to worry about if doing this?
Like internet banking etc.

I was thinking about connecting my second router and using the Unotelly DNS on that connecting all the devices i want netflix on and creating different Wifi SSID as well thereby Isolating Netflix - speaking of how is netflix via wifi on older B/G devices

cool
and how do you keep the IP updated when it changes Dyn DNS or similar service or use the android app every time to update

There's a program you can download to auto update your IP on their site, but my IP changes so rarely that I go the website each time and update it manually.

Unotelly IP's not working anymore on Axxess ISP. Any news in this?

Not on Axxess but mine started working when I removed Cape Town and replaced it with Johannesburg.
