Anyone here that hasn't paid their etolls and has been summoned or forced to pay in some way or the other ?

Without an etag .

I don't think anyone, in the entire country, has been summonsed as of yet. It would have been all over the news.
 
There comes a point where you have to make a stand. If they managed to change the Constitution to refuse renewal of your license with outstanding etoll, I won't be renewing my license.
 
I've been wondering the same of late ...

I have been paying up until three months or so ago ...

But lately just don't feel like paying is actually the right thing to do
 
Only ever got one account for a piddly amount. I paid it.

Had a call from them. They wanted my email address. I gave them my postal address.

Not a single squeak since.
 
Since the inception of E-Tolls I have driven on the highway without care. I have never received a single bill, not that I would have paid even if they sent me anything.

Shows how screwed the system is! I will not pay E-Toll, end of story.
 
Received some bills about a year ago before SAPO went pear shaped but nothing since. Probably above R10k now.
 
The amount of people prosecuted for non-payment of e-tolls since 2013: 0

Outa is still waiting to test the legality of the first case. Why are you paying?
 
If I remember correctly, receive invoices beginning of this year, but only showed gantry entries until October 2014. Nothing since.

The system is borked anyway, was away for along weekend in March last year, 200kms from any gantry, but the invoice I eventually showed 2-3 for that period. That makes me distrust EVERY SINGLE gantry entry they send me.

Still haven't paid, and waiting for summons. Or if they get it right, refuse to issue my license disc. Then will have to risk being fined for not displaying it.

They said that is about 18 months away. The system is not ready for it.

They can't change the constitution.

And you have to renew your license, lest you lose your insurance. However, you can pay the license fees without getting the disc. At most you'll get a fine for not displaying the disc, but you keep your insurance.

Also, the Transport department said last night they won't be criminalising the non-payment of eTolls, so w/e.
 
I received a couple of etollie bills for my car.

Wife's car, nothing.

I will not pay, because of the corruption and underhanded deals behind the scenes.

If you pay, then you actually condone (and aid and abet) corruption.
 
I had an etag on my car for a few month last year.

The beeping got very annoying so I took it off the windscreen - haven't paid a cent since last October.
 
One for my wife's car, which according to their photo is a silver A class Mercedes... funny thing is she drives a red Fiat :) and avoids highways.
