I would love to just sit down and talk to an actual developer and understand the thought process, the model creation and what software outside the main developing tool they use. Like 3D modelling software. How long does each process take? The physical hardware stuff like that. Sadly I will never get the chance.

I saw that post on Reddit as well - those guys have some ridiculous talent. I've checked out the MGSA forums before and as you say its been pretty dead there so I will make a point of hitting the Discord. Would be keen to check out any of your projects if you are ready to share. Truly hope it goes well for you.

The bar is set so high, isn't it? I mean I look at the mess content creators play sometimes. It can be hardly called a game. It has a jump scare and it has a tiny bit of story behind it. The problem with tools making it more accessible to make games is everyone is doing it. It kills the market to the point that the player just ignores anything that isn't done by a large studio. Anyone that has played some of the games they stream knows the games are buggy. I will give myself a couple of months no more than two. If I can't create something that is worth playing I will exit the market.

Install UE5. Do the tutorial. If you don't know how to use Blender, get some premades. Try make a small game that you'd like to actually play. Then expand accordingly.
At this early stage it's all about making SOMETHING....ANYTHING you find interesting, so you can get familiar.

Also just get into the basics. Udemy has some deep dive tutorials but you can create a basic game from just following some youtube stuff:

hi, I am sorry if I upset you in some way. Yes, I am currently using Unity but I saw what people are creating with the Unreal engine and it is spectacular. I started this thread to see who is using what and why. My current GPU is a 1660 Super and I doubt it will run properly. I saw they recommend a 3070 12Gb last time I checked. I do plan to download it later on. I don't have access to uncapped internet so I have to work out how much data I will need to buy first. So few things holding me back.
I have built a few games, but nothing special, I build a worm game that runs on Android and made a clone of Flappy Birds. Made a few other games and applications. The bigger projects I don't talk about. I want to see if I can earn from them first. But that is it basically.
Just to add and be fair to myself, build more applications than I do games. I have made a lot of algorithms the most successful one was for short trading. It really worked well and I intent to improve on it.

This is not a debate but about software, development tools and how each can be used and what makes the one better than the other. Additionally, try it with a 1660. It won't run perfectly, but I'm pretty sure it'll run. The 3070 didn't come in a 12GB variant (besides 1 model from Asus) so whoever told you that is as useful as 2 left socks.
Overall, I still think you should just download and give it a go. If data is a concern, head to a coffee shop and download using their wifi, won't cost you a thing and speeds are generally acceptable.

I honestly don't know what I did to her. I gave advice relevant to her question but because she disagrees with me in the debate section she mocked me for it.

I promise you I have done everything I can to ignore this person but, he knows others see it and make it so that they don't respond. It makes it really difficult for me to get to information I actually do need. I am in a bad place I am trying to get out but I am being blocked all over this forum. I will just send a F you letter to the admins get banned with this account wait a couple of months and try again. That way this individual gets their win and maybe I get information later on. I don't know how I am going to post it without them identifying me. That is going to be very hard. Because they now know I need info on the software I mentioned above. Essentially they officially made it impossible.
