Why are Afrikaans people so sensitive? I don't see Pedi people acting like the world is ending.

Nobody is asking you to give up your language, heritage or culture.

From what I know its the university that demoted Afrikaans.

UP: From now on Afrikaans and Sepedi will only be in tutorials.

The English only language policy affects the Pedi students just as it does the Afrikaans students. How is this an attack on white people? Afrikaans peeps are the only people taking this personally unlike Pedi speakers who don't mind English and in fact support a one language policy. I haven't seen one person saying "This is tribalism. Next they'll be an ethnic cleansing of all Pedi people. They hate us".

I asked you at some point when you claimed that the Pedi people should be notified that they are white, if there are no Pedi people supporting this and the response by someone was that I'm generalising... You've just gone and proved my point. I appreciate it

Pedi, was introduced to the University to assist the many Sotho speaking people. This is called nation building, it was never there before it was introduced as there was a need for it. Now, Pedi is a victim of this whole issue as well. Which is not needed. There is a place for Pedi, just like there is a place for Afrikaans and any other language.

My personal view is that the guys at UCT has to accept some responsibility for this for giving thugs what they wanted.

When did I say no Pedi people were supporting the protest? You said it was white vs black and I said then Pedi people must be white too then because this affects them too (English vs Afrikaans & Pedi). English is just as much a white man's language as Afrikaans so if this is black vs white, everyone is chowed either way.

I asked, and you either ignored it or it slipped through past the many posts. No it was never English vs Afrikaans and Pedi. UP made it vs Afrikaans and Pedi when they brought out the new draft Again, and I'm saying this for the last time. I would have had the exact same view if they wanted to remove Zulu and replace it with Afrikaans. It's not a language thing it's a race thing. Pedi was pulled into the debate this morning. The protest didn't start today...

The protest obviously didn't start today. Last week when a lecture refused to end I got on twitter and came to same conclusion as I am now. Some tweets mentioned Afrikaans others Pedi, so needless to say I was confused as to what was going on. Poked around a bit and guess what I saw English vs Afrikaans and Pedi instead of white vs black people.
