Upcoming Games

I think you aren't alone. To me it's more of an arcade thing though, which is why this game looks so perfect. Have you tried proper VR though eg Rift or Vive or even psvr? I haven't.

No, I haven't. Should probably try it before I knock it, but there's just not much about it that appeals. Although, I can certainly think of certain styles of games that would suit the medium well.

They sometimes have a Vive stand at the mall where you can pay to try it out, but I never have the time when I'm there. Gear VR was fun for a while but poor graphics and lack of content and control let it down. I dunno, those who have used VR in depth tend to become quite fervent about its potential. Problem is ATM most games are just demos really or adaptations of existing games.

Yep, VR is in its infancy and hence the content is limitted. Kinda like when personal computers first came out and you had to still fiddle with the operating system to even get it to work much less play a decent game on it. I think eventually it will grow and become a major alternative game platform that competes with the rest. On the other hand it could just be proven as a gimmick and die the way 3D TV did.

The one Gear VR game I really enjoyed was Land's End. It was simple enough to work with the crappy controls on the side of the thing

Am I the only person not at all interested in VR?

Done correctly with the right kind of game I could get behind it - Elite Dangerous/Flight sims for instance where looking out the sides of your spacecraft/aircraft could actually add to the immersion. Otherwise...meh.

I have played Elite on my Rift...it is mind blowing. Combat...cannot explain it. Explosion...my lord it's awesome. I just love it.
