BioMutant — remember that? — gets a launch date for PS4, Xbox One

Coming in May from Avalanche Studios alumni

BioMutant finally has a launch date. THQ Nordic’s “open-world, post-apocalyptic kung fu fable” arrives May 25, 2021 on PlayStation 4, Windows PC, and Xbox One.

Originally due in 2018, BioMutant is developed by Experiment 101, which Avalanche Studios’ former creative director, Stefan Ljungqvist, founded in 2015. THQ Nordic is the game’s publisher. In BioMutant, players can modify their character with bionic prosthetics, powerful mutations, and cool weapons, all of which amp up the game’s martial arts combat system.

From the ashes... I only hope it will be delivered as promised.

Can't wait

I see only ME:1 is mechanically upgraded. Not that I mind, but I don't think the remaster warrants a $60 price tag, more like $45-50.

Happily it is added to Steam, though the publisher haven't added the access tokens so regional pricing is still unknown,

what I did note is that package CD keys (with back dating) is added as an activition method so now I am curious whether existing owners may have a upgrade path at a discount.

I can. Really depends on what they did and did not do with it.

Mass Effect Legendary Edition trailer reveals huge upgrades

...

Due to project scope constraints, BioWare opted to not move everything over to the Unreal Engine 4, going instead with Unreal Engine 3. We won’t see tech like ray tracing integrated, but BioWare assured us that it has made significant upgrades visually. From the footage the company showed us, I came away impressed. While I’d love to see the Mass Effect trilogy maxed out on my PC, I understand that BioWare's resources were limited. Too much ambition can kill a project like this.

However, the Mass Effect trilogy will be available in 4K HDR, and will hit a 60 fps target on the PS4 and Xbox One. On PC, everything now runs on DirectX 11, the graphical options have been “modernized,” controller support is finally here, and BioWare has unlocked the frame rate. The games will also support high-refresh rate and 21:9 ultrawide monitors.

BioWare also made some major quality of life adjustments, especially in ME1. That means much shorter elevator rides, vast changes to driving the Mako, improved enemy and squadmate AI, a dedicated melee button and a whole lot more.

BioWare set out to make the Legendary Edition feel like one uniform, cohesive experience. You select which of the three games you wish to play from a single, unified launcher. The character creator has also expanded to include new options, including more hairstyles and makeup. You can even import a character code straight into ME1, if you so choose. FemShep fans will be happy, as you’ll find the options for the default female Shepard from ME3 in ME1’s character creator. Both ME1 and ME2 will use the combat HUD from Mass Effect 3. Furthermore, I saw the out-of-combat movement system from Mass Effect 2 and 3 during the brief ME1 gameplay footage.

They didn't go with UE3, they stayed with UE3. Engine-wise, it is the same engine.

The remaster was done to mainly target the console market, and they expanded the character creation to be 'inclusive'. Only ME1 seems to have inherited gameplay ME2/3 mechanics.

I don't believe that current ME trilogy owners should pay more than $29.

This remaster will serve as a gateway, pending on how well it is received, to add continuency to the ME universe.

I never played any of the series dlc so that will all be new to me. Plus the series is one of my all time favourites so this will be the perfect time to do another playthrough.

I see graven is going to do yet another timed demo

Imho a load of kak. Just keep the ****ing demo up. However, I have already gone tpb route for it. World first though, I mean in what reality does one pirate a demo to actually just play the demo

Jesus. Are they ****ing mad

It is advisable to wait until it releases and give it two or so weeks. Steam's own regional calc isn't done.

From experience, the price is likely to drop to around R500-R600 and possibly less. There is no way EA makes us pay 10% more than the US and I don't believe their UK/EU price is right either.

Unless you have an Argentinian or Russian account you are stupid to preorder with an SA account. This happens many a time with pre-orders on Steam. The same thing happened with Wasteland 3 which was recent,

UNLESS, they want people to do EA subs ;) Corporate Commando style.

Either way I'd rather spend that on The Village. If anything...

I guess I am wrong. EA is indeed pricing ZAR above the USD. I checked the ME history and it is the case with ME. They are going to keep the original Deluxe Edition in the store,

At least, in the case you own ME3 you may get an 17% discount,

Yep, they want us 'poor' sods to subscribe.

Yeah... guess I can wait for sale in 2-3 years, its not like I "have to play it"

If the itch needs a scratch to bad I can always fire up the old PS3 :D

For PC it should be even less. It's basically just a config change to support 4K. I played this game, ME1, in December and just finished Andromeda, last week. If I compare the graphics in the remastered trailer with the old one, I don't see a big difference. And it surely seems/feels dated against Andromeda. Luckily I have all 4 the ME games on Origin, I won't be paying for the remastered.

Owners of the original, that pays for the remastered, should have their heads examined.

I'm gladly paying for it :)

I still have all 3 games on disc so they desperately need an upgrade. My ME3 doesn't even work anymore because of outdated Origin drm that tries to connect you to dead servers.
