Updating to WP8.1

That's the update to prep the phone for installing 8.1

True.

However, what is key is the second screenshot there that says it will check for WP8.1 for me or I can go to setting to do so.

After about a minute, maybe less after completing the 8.0 update, it again told me that an update is available, which I'm downloading now.

I am quite sure it is WP8.1. I have a Lumia 925. Apparently, it is the first to receive the update and tech sites have confirmed that the rollout started in Europe already last week on the 925.

I am installing WP8.1, now.

It came with T's & C's that I took 2 minutes to scroll through at high speed and still didn't get to their end. I gave up and just hit 'install'.

Will update.

Loving 8.1 DP on my 920.

Cyan does not bring much for me, so happy to continue with 8.1 DP and no Cyan until MS bring out a fix.

The often forgotten phrases/proverb in Afrikaans states " n' haastige hond verbrand sy mond "/English states " Patience is a virtue" if the message from Microsoft states - Here's the full statement from Microsoft:
"We are currently investigating the issue. We have paused delivery of the update to customers using the Preview for Developers, and will resume once a fix is in place. Customers whose phones have been affected should use the Nokia Software Recovery Tool to return your Lumia to a normal commercial software state before downloading the Lumia Cyan update."
I am glad for waiting to get the official Cyan update, knowing we will get eventually. Look here: http://www.wpcentral.com/microsoft-users-windows-phone-81-preview-developer-should-return-normal-software-getting-lumia-cyan

The rollout of WP 8.1 seems to only affect those people runningWP 8.1 Preview for Developers and using BitLocker encryption (in a corporate environement).

Lol I was waiting for Ivan to have a field day with us on this.
But yeah as p51 said, only if you using BitLocker as well, which I don't so I'm happy.

ROFL! You suck...(also I fixed that for you) I'm gonna ask a mod to change my name now.
This account was created in the age of @s, 0s and 3s. I'm over that now. Grown up a bit.

Also yeah, lesson learned, although I'm not phased.
I have a 820 which will probably only get the update by the time I get my 930(looking at the rate that the updates are becoming available now).
And then this 820 will go to my gf, so I'd want to wipe it anyways.

There we go ... :-)

Windows Phone 8.1 Preview users will no longer need to downgrade their OS to Update

WP Central:
Should you still be rocking the Windows Phone 8.1 Developer Preview and are looking to downgrade the operating system to get the full public release and Lumia Cyan, you won't have to carry out this task if you're able to hold on for another week. According to Joe Belfiore on Twitter, Microsoft will be upgrading those on the Developer Preview program to Windows Phone 8.1 Update 1 next week.

My Lumia 1520 with Dev Preview started an update download a minute ago.

I suspect the update with Cyan is here. Will report back once I know.
