Went in to Vodacom to see if my phone is one of the ones that went up when they changed specials on the 7th and I see there's still a R150 Upgrade fee.

I could swear I remember reading something about that being illegal? Am I just insane? :D

It's an admin fee.... nothing else.

That's what I'm sure I remember hearing/reading Peder :D

If I have to I'll pay the fee but if it's illegal... :)

I can understand why it would be illegal too... they're basically charging me a fee so that I can continue paying them money each month.

I rmbr going to 3 Cell-C branches before I found one that did not charge "upgrade fee" (upgrade fee = lazy sales reps who don't want to work!)

Was at Vodacom in Menlyn last Saturday with a friend to upgrade. Took us maybe 10 minutes (of which 9 minutes was spent oggling the awesome Samsung Omnia)...

i cannot actually understand why i must pay a R150 upgrade fee every year, i mean then i am in actual fact paying for 13 months of my contract if i have the top up 135...
