Upgrade to Win 7 7068

Yea gamer damn man, you must have done something wrong.

Cryptic that has been issue that has plagued windows from the xp days :). Rather annoying that after 2 releases with vista and windows 7 they cannot get the OS to give the drive on itself.

I was going swimmingly at first. I needed almost NO drivers for my very new model Dell laptop - was very impressed. I did need to install the drivers for the multi card slot - only thing. It found a few updated drivers on windows update, only 3 I think. I can't remember what caused the first few crashes...just immediate switch offs. Then I installed the Nokia Software Updater. I got more immediate switch offs & hanging when trying to run that. Then I would put my laptop to sleep. When bringing it out of sleep, it would BSOD about 20 seconds after waking up. I'm always out and about on my notebook and hit the sleep button maybe 10 times a day during the work day. It goes to sleep in a few seconds and wakes up in just a few seconds. Perfect for my needs. I'm not going to battle with something when my Vista was working perfectly before hand.
For me, I had roughly 30 or so crashes/BSOD's in a 4 day period. The more software I loaded and the more I worked with it I'd probably just have a higher frequency of failures.
I loved the quick drivers, ease of new devices being added, the ability to control everything in your taskbar, the fact that they allow your Downloads folder in the start menu, lots of little things that make it so much more pleasurable...but I've tried it now in it's beta stage and literally, at least 30 crashes in 4 days...I'm not alone, there's tons of okes with similar problems online...I'll wait for the retail release.

Honestly, Win7 has bugs, but they are really minor compare to Vista when it got released. Its been a real pleasure and eagerly awaiting the final release!

Yea i found with my windows 7 install when i installed netlimiter it blue screened me. Some software does not agree with that. Lab remember windows 7 has vista to thank for that, vista took all the slack and windows 7 will reap all the joy :p.

Yea windows 7 release will be much better than vista's.

What I am looking forward to, is the touch screen capabilities. Now that Win7 supports it, wonder if there will be some uptake of this in the software and touch-lcd market

1 Is Win7 better then XP?
2 Whats the specs requirements?
3 What is the best Win7 version?
4 What OS is related with Win7(eg win98 related to Win95)?

1) I recon yes. It is a much more advanced OS. Just as fast for me as well.
2) I'm playing around with 512MB (old laptop) and a P4 2.0Ghz... ;)
3) Subjective. Generally latest builds will be better. I'm using 7057 x64 fine.
4) Win7 -> Vista -> NT6.0 kernel

:)

I hope this is isn't a trick question but here goes:
1). Yes
2). Processor: 2 GHz 32-bit or 64-bit processor
Memory: 1 GB of system memory
Hard drive: 16 GB of available disk space
Video card: Support for DirectX 9 graphics with 128MB memory (in order to enable Aero theme)
Drive: DVD-R/W drive
Internet connection (to download the Beta and get updates)
3). Ultimate, all the betas are in Ultimate
4). Vista

Let's just say microsoft has an OS that nobody can get on the bandwagon and say xp is better because it simply is not anymore.

Windows 7 is the new windows xp. Faster as well on old and new hardware.
