upgrading firmware, good or bad idea? (w960)

Hi

The Sony Ericsson update service that i downloaded says there's an update available for my phone (world generic 1)...i just got my w960 3 weeks ago though, ... would it be a good or bad idea to update it? what happens to data on the phone and warranties?

any thoughts or previous experience would be appreciated...

i cant help but think "if its not broken then don't fix it"...

current firmware (i think..): Phone: CXC162037 R9J005

Go for it.
Minimal risk if you update striaght from the phone.

thanks for the input, just updated now, new version comes with SSX3 snowboarding game it looks amazing on the phone fully utilising the UIQ touch interface and the 3D engine, the phone is also a lot faster...not too sure what other tweaks there are

Click yes and put the phone down. That way there is less chance of the connection being interrupted than if you carry it around while its updating.

no probs, it was free on MTN ProCall 120 @ a subscription of R319 through MTN Tygervalley, had to wait a while for it though...
