Hi Guys

I just wanted to know if updating my firmware to an official firmware from another country eg. UK would it void my warranty with Vodacom. I currently have a Huawei p9 lite on contract with Vodacom and have been having freezing issues and rather than sending it in to Vodacom to just have them format and reload it for two weeks the problem is I would like to flash it myself and I can't find any Vodacom branded firmware for the P9 lite only for the P9. I've read some posts that contain the same kind of questions but haven't really gotten a clear answer.

Thanks

I do not see why it would. It is not modifying the official firmware of the device, such as rooting it.

That said, have you performed a factory reset to see if it clears the problem?

I tried just doing a factory reset. Thats why I want to flash a new firmware but just trying to be safe before flashing the firmware these days everything voids your warranty.

Modifying it would have many manufacturers call a void warranty since you can remove thermal throttles etc that can damage the hardware. Simply installing a firmware from another region for the same model...nah I do not see how that would be an issue.

Just say you got it like that.

Ok thanks I flashed the new firmware and my device is running much stabler and smoother.

The warranty of your device is covered by Huawei and not by your service provider, any. unauthorized firmware upgrades will void your warranty. But if you use the correct none branded firmware released by Huawei and downloaded from their website, installed as per directions given on their website, this can not void your warranty.
