Howzit guys,
I got a new(2nd hand) PC the other day and I now want to do some upgrading.

My current setup is:
-AMD 6000+ @ 3.0Ghz CPU ( dual core) + G Power II CPU Cooler
- HD 3850 512MB (GPU)
- 3GB DDR2 800 (RAM)
-320GB (HDD_
-Biostar NF61S Micro AM2 SE (MOBO)
-Gigabyte 3D Aurora

I am currently using a monitor that supports up to 1280X1024.

I can run most/all ( inc crysis) on Ultra High but only at like 768X which is not the greatest of lookers!

If I had the funds I would get :
-Asus P5Q (MOBO)
-2GB RAM
- Quad-core CPU
-HD 4870

but the most I can shell out is R5 500.
What parts would you suggest I get? Just CPU and Mobo? Just GFX and RAM?
Let me know
Thanks

What monitor, don't be shy now ;) I would leave the CPU and RAM, buy a new Hard drive and display card and monitor (2333).

I dont want or need a new screen ... And I am fine with my HDD(not for long though)
@Pot: I dont need a new Mobo unless I get a new CPU as my Mobo will support the card!
That is my little dilemma.
But maybe I get a new Mobo (R1600) + new HD4870 (R2 900) + 2GB RAM ( +- R500)
then in few months get a new CPU

Then why replace the MOBO, the extra RAM would probably not be used.... Just buy a new display card?

I would get a new mobo with AM2+/AM3 support so you'll be able to upgrade your CPU at a later stage.

that what I was saying and thinking ... so when I get more funds I just buy the CPU with no worries!

Also keep in mind that in a few months the mobo that you buy now will be significantly cheaper....

I get what you saying but tech is always like that ... I could wait 6 months and get this all R1k cheaper... but by then in 1 month it will be even cheaper... so it comes to the point where you have to actually buy it ... and that time is now ... plus my current mobo only has 2 RAM slots and I want at least 4!
On Sat I get my money then gonna buy all!
