Hi
I'm looking for a UPS for my Rain router. It's a ZTE. These are the ports. tempImagepvGj5L.jpg

It's 12V. Why one time?
"one time" is a figure of speech. He means it will work.

You can also just use any normal UPS. Just plug the router power supply into it, with one of these:

Isn’t it better just to get a gizzu ups ?

It doesn't matter too much. A normal UPS has more capacity generally and can run other non-12v devices. For example mine runs my router, switch, and Raspberry Pi.

One thing to caution against. It's very easy to destroy the batteries in a normal UPS especially if it has lead acid and you don't take care of it. The Gizzu ones will work a lot better for the average Joe as its simply plug 'n play.

Firstly have you checked and confirmed that your rain tower still works during loadshedding? it will be pointless buying the ups only to find that you have zero network during loadshedding.
You don’t have to explain this to JB … his well informed about this kinda stuff … but I got my GIZZU today as well

Agreed. The lead acid one in mine gave up a few months after I got the UPS. Replaced it with a BlueNova Li-Ion battery and get long backup and no loss of capacity.

The Gizzu and similar mini UPSes also use new Li-Ion batteries so yes, probably a better choice to backup only a router.

1. Your reply is very valid, but in most cases RAIN utilizes other SP's towers to connect to.
2. With the current client market of RAIN, I would think that RAIN would actually provide such info to protect their own routers and provide a doable solution for a 4hour entry level UPS within a R1,500 cost-bracket. The users who have RAIN WiFi, are probably those who do not have the need for Fibre in which case a SP such as Vox is marketing a purchase/rental solution for their Fibre router.
3. The gent who posted the initial question was never helped, but sent to the vast world of "guess & trial-and-error".
Just my humble view,

I use a huawei ups from my B315, with the ZTE router, works for 2-3 hours, did replace the original batteries
