(Urgent) ADSL cut off

I used to believe it was at a set rate, but it depends when you download. Your threshold decreases for heavy downloading during peak hours, than you do for 00:00 - 6:00am, so schedule any large downloads or torrents for then.
Speaking of which, does anyone know of an application that allows you to schedule downloads (torrents )?

It would be great if said app also has a Android version. I'm aware of the U torrent remote, I can get it to work if I indicate a download and then pause it, but this only helps if I'm away from home.

Utorrent has a scheduler built-in. Netlimiter also works nice - I used it back in the day to eg. limit downloads to 0.01kb/s in peak times.

Deluge is my favourite. It also has scheduling/throttling of torrents built in as an option.

How can this apply to business accounts?
I decided to pay for a business account to avoid AUP issues ... :(

What really sucks is that I downgraded my line to 2MB because Hellkom cannot fix my line problem.
I was paying for a 10MB connection but only getting 0.5 to 1.5 max.

Now I am getting this stupid throttling and I have hardly even used the line.

the Usage tracking tool also does not work so I have no way of checking usage.

Typical rubbish Telkom product!!

Sorry to say, but I don't believe you are telling the whole story here...

Tracking tool works fine. (mine has just turned red).

If you hardly used the line there is no way you will be throttled. (Mine is red and I'm not throttled yet)

You can also check your usage here: http://userstats.adsl.saix.net/

Mickey, You're coming across as a huge Telkom shill.

I also found the usage tracker very problematic.

You're also NEVER throttled, which we all find odd.

Time to declare you link to the company please.

The TI Tracker was down for a day or two but has been working for at least 3 days as I have had to check my own usage. The SAIX tracker shows the exact usage and is also working.

I'm yet to be throttled as I don't try to download the internet.

Who I work for has absolutely buggerall to do with you or anybody else for that matter. I criticize all telcos equally, but will also complement them when they deserve it. My link is that I have a 4Mbps uncapped account with them. I also have a Afrihost account, Vodacom account and a Cell C account.

BTW, Paul asked you a similar question in the Crystal Web thread that you created...

Managed to get something other than errors on https://secure.telkomsa.net/titracker/[

Can someone now explain exactly what this means considering all the previous posts that seems to imply that uncapped is subject to tracking?

"Thank you for logging onto the Telkom Internet Usage Tracker Tool. You are on an Uncapped product and therefore usage tracking is not applicable to you."

Yesterday I kept getting messages when browsing indicating that my account is being managed due to UAT?

..... the useless ADSL performance on this connection probably has no hope of ever reaching any cap limit anyway

Look at the usage bar on the tracker.

I haven't been throttled yet either. But I've used just short of 200gb last month and same the month before that. 4mbps.

Does this mean it is tracked and throttled (aka 'managed') even though Telkom says it is not?

I think you'll find the answers to the above by reading this thread from the beginning.

From your posts in other threads it seems you have a major problem with your line, I believe your voice line isn't working? Try reporting the voice fault only (no mention of ADSL), if Telkom can fix this to your satisfaction it's possible your ADSL experience will improve.
