Hi
All please do not shoot me down, ban me or otherwise malign me as I am really in a pickle and MAYBE someone out there will be able to assist. Basically even though I am employed I am in a major financial jam and am looking for ANYONE who can put me onto a loan shark to assist me, in the Cape Town area preferably. I KNOW all the warnings but believe me when I say I have no choice but to go that route. I am willing to pay a finders fee to the person who is able to put me onto a successful loan. Please, I really need this information badly.
Again, please do not run me down or anything like that I am just trying to get out of a jam. you can email or PM me if you have any DEFINITE information for me. This is quite urgent so the sooner the better please.

Thanking you in advance,
Mark

Mark,

I don't have an answer or won't run you down.

But what about family? I *almost* went to the loan shark route and luckily sucked up my pride and asked my mom. Much better decision

I think Capitec Bank is a better bet than a loan shark. They tend to butter the bread on both sides, with jam and cream

I think loan sharking is illegal?

You could try short term loans, I came across this site some time recently, though I have not tried them:

https://www.wonga.co.za/

They offer short term loans to basically anyone employed.

Unfortunately I have no family around any more, I am 50 years old.

You need to tell us please:

Who you have tried so far
How much you are looking for. I mean are we looking at R 50k or R 500k?
And, dependant on the above, how much you can realistically afford to repay each month
Do you have life and disability insurance. Do you own your own house
How much other debt do you have
What is left over, on average, after you have been paid?
Try not to go to a debt counsellor, often they make things worse and suck you dry

I hear Pep does loans too these days, thinking of the target market I doubt that would be too difficult to pull off.

This is not going to end well. If you can't afford to pay off an amount now, imagine trying to pay off that same amount at an exorbitant interest rate with an unscrupulous loan shark after your flesh.

maybe his life depends on it ... maybe the first loan shark is after him. okay this seems serious so i wont joke around but I would suggest you tell us your situation ? perhaps we can brain storm ideas for you man. I dont know you so I will be frank, if you killed tomorrow i wouldnt even bother me so no matter how bad your current situation is you CAN tell us so we CAN try to help you. Sir going to a dodge underworld loan shark is a VERY VERY VERY bad idea

Good day Chris,
Sorry for only replying now but I was on my way home when your message came thru and I do not have ADSL at home. To answer your questions in order:
I have tried ALL the banks and other financial institutions, i.e. Standard, FNB, Capitec, Bayport, ABSA, and many others. Apparently there is a problem with the bank where my salary goes into, which is Bidvest, something about the lending insititution not being able to set up debit orders with Bidvest as yet.
The amount I am looking for is R 22,000.00
I can realistically afford to pay back R 3,000.00 per month
No, no insurance whatsoever and no house, also no car.
Apart from monthly rent and food costs, no other debt.
I am not sure what you are asking in the last question. If you mean after all deductions and expenses then it averages about R 3,700.00.

hope this helps.
Mark

Now what could you have gotten yourself into that requires you to need that kind of money now?

Have you spoken with your bank manager about them being a problem? What did he/she say?

Apparantly they are still new in the personal banking field so if I want to take out a loan from, say, Standard Bank, Standard Bank cannot set up a debit order automatically on my account, so therefore Standard Bank cannot help me. Its the same for all the banks and other institutions I approached. This is supposed to change in the next 6 months but as of right now, I cannot get a loan from ANY of the banks becuase of this.

And they cannot offer you a loan themselves? What I'd do is get a bank account from FNB and then get a loan either through them or some other bank. Stay away from loan sharks. But if you really want to get burnt, buy a Sunday paper, they advertise in there.
