Hello

Got this in via e-mail today. Farking hoax emails doing the rounds again....
http://www.f-secure.com/hoaxes/cf_virus.shtml

Dear All,

If you receive a phone call on your mobile from any person, saying
that, he or she is a company engineer, or saying that they're checking
your mobile line, and you have to press # 90 or #09 or any other number.
End this call immediately without pressing any numbers.

There is a fraud company using a device that once you press #90 or #09
they can access your 'SIM' card and make calls at your expense. Forward
this message to as many friends as you can, to stop it. All mobile user
s pay attention if you receive a phone call and your mobile phone
displays (XALAN) on the screen don't answer the call, END THE CALL
IMMEDIATELY, if you answer the call, your phone will be infected by a
virus..

This virus will erase all IMEI and IMSI information from both your
phone and your SIM card, which will make your phone unable to connect
with the telephone network. You will have to buy a new phone. This
information has been confirmed by both Motorola and Nokia.

PLEASE FORWARD THIS PIECE OF INFORMATION TO ALL YOUR FRIENDS HAVING A
MOBILE.

Hoax emails should rather say at their end,
IF YOU ARE STUPID, LIKE CAUSING UPSET AND SPREADING MASS HYSTERIA SEND THIS EMAIL TO YOUR FRIENDS.

Same thing really

People don't realise that not all emails are true... lol
If something was important, you wouldn't hear about it via a forwarded email...

I believe there is a true story doing the rounds that if you throw your phone into the vaal dam, your warranty will be void, but I can't confirm it (it's not mentioned on any of the regular hoax sites)

Only Motorola and Nokia - pfft, unimportant then ;-)

Now, if it was a statement by Microsoft on CNN just this morning, well, then I would have believed it :D

That's right!? how did you know? And if you forward that mail on to your friends, you'll get a replacement in the post :D

I am still waiting for the day I receive a true email with warning in the subject line.

"I'm sure most of my friends are already millionaires, coz of all the forwarded mail i get which says "microsoft or intel will pay you X amount for every time you forward this email"

You'd be definately blond, If you actually believe a hoax e-mail like that, really come on, people like spreading rumors, In fact make them sound real. Like the NSPCA e-mail, BMW E-mail, these people do it to spite companies and sometimes they can get financial loses, I remember back in the days when we had the flashin sms, I sms 10 friends, they all believed I sent them virus, they were paranoid, aggrovated at me....

Back in my day a company used one of my business domains, and dam did i get like 200 e-mails to reply........
