There was a heated disagreement in the Situation Room this weekend over the efficacy of the anti-malaria drug hydroxychloroquine -- but multiple sources say it was mostly one-sided, as President Donald Trump's top trade adviser Peter Navarro feuded with other officials over the drug's unproven effectiveness to treat coronavirus.

The debate is not a new one inside the coronavirus task force -- and medical experts have repeatedly explained to the President that there is a risk in enthusiastically touting hydroxychloroquine in case the drug doesn't ultimately work to combat the virus. But other aides and outside advisers have sided with Trump, including Navarro, who is still not a formal part of the task force but has wedged himself into the meetings.
Axios first reported on the disagreement inside the White House about the drug.

Your posts indicate that you have taken exception to it and are addressing the subject with well reasoned opinions.

Surely commenting on something and taking exception to something are two very different things wouldn't you say?

I'm sure there are things you yourself comment on here on the forums that interest you or that you debate about but are not offended at. They are simply a topic for discussion. Christianity is an interest of mine (understatement), so obviously there are times that I will take part in a debate thereon. Just like I like cricket and will take part in that discussion, but if someone doesn't like the Proteas doesn't mean I take great exception to it even if I give my reasons why I disagree. I simply disagree rather than being offended or the like.

Don't get me wrong though, I am a devoted Christian but people have the right to comment and believe as they please. Just because I disagree and say so doesn't mean I don't believe in freedom of speech, even the Bible says we are free to choose.

The Acting Secretary of the Navy Thomas Modly blasted the now ousted commander of the USS Theodore Roosevelt as "stupid" in an address to the ship's crew Monday morning,

Modly told the crew that their former commander, Capt. Brett Crozier, was either "too naive or too stupid" to be in command or that he intentionally leaked to the media a memo in which he warned about coronavirus spreading aboard the aircraft carrier and urged action to save his sailors.

The acting secretary accused Crozier of committing a "betrayal" and creating a "big controversy" in Washington by disseminating the warning so widely.

"It was a betrayal. And I can tell you one other thing: because he did that he put it in the public's forum and it is now a big controversy in Washington, DC," Modly said, according to a transcript of remarks Modly made to the crew, copies of which have been provided to CNN by multiple Navy officials.

In remarks that were piped over the vessel's PA system, Modly suggested Crozier leaked the memo on purpose or was "too naive or too stupid" to be in command if he didn't think that sending it to over 20 people would not result in it getting out to the public [harming our dear leaders image and his chances in the next election].
