What I mean in this context is - being forced to answer tough questions in public, in a way that [they] can't instantly dismiss.
That isn't really public accountability though. They can dismiss those questions. The only questions that they cannot instantly dismiss are the ones posed to them by a legal supoena, where they will face direct consequences for not answering.

Anecdote:
Spoke to my BIL the other day, he's doing better than he ever has.
In fact every Vet he's dealt with since The Orange Don was voted in, claims the same thing.
Shlt...I'll call him later tonight and tell him he's talking kaka.

He's a senior tech at one of the VA Medical Centers...he deals with many of them on a daily basis.
Fck, I can't believe he's been lying to me.

Thanks for the heads-up, bro. ( <- jokes! :p )

I'm sure that he is doing better than ever, because the US economy is doing well. The point is, it would have been doing even better had Trump not embarked on his ill-considered trade war. In 2017, before the trade war started, US exports to China were at $130 billion. In 2019, they were at $107 billion. So whilst folks like your brother in law are doing well, some people have lost business because of the trade war. In 2019, the US trade deficit with China was at $345 billion, the same level it was at in 2016. So Trump's trade war, meant to put an end to the US's massive trade deficit with China, has so far done nothing to reduce the trade deficit, but has reduced US exports to China by $25 billion.

Until Trump submits to a psychiatric evaluation and allows the psychiatrist to release their assessment to the public, there won't ever be an official diagnosis of NPD. That does not mean that he does not have NPD. This is not Schrödinger's Cat. Someone doesn't have a mental health condition only once a psychiatrist clinically evaluates them to have one.
So in the absence of a formal medical examination your diagnosis is fact?

Yeah man, listen, don't worry...I can't explain it either.
All I can tell you is that they're doing much better than they did under the previous regime.
Somehow, they just seem to have more money in the bank...even with less trade from China.
*shrug*

Now leave me alone, so I can enjoy the "'s" from the weird corner.
:p:thumbsup:

The China deal is still ongoing, it's also about more than trade. There is IP that's been stolen by China, trade routes etc...
Trump is playing the long game.

Awaits cnn 'fact checking' on trumps claim that he's the youngest male human on planet earth :giggle:

That was last year so it'll count as one of cerebrals 15000 lies.

Makes me wonder where the Shiff and Pelosi lie lists are?
Or maybe leftists lies don't count as they live in an alternate reality.

Come on a lot politicians are close to NPD, honing in on Trump alone is the easy thing to do. Most politicians just hide it better is all.

So in the absence of a formal medical examination your diagnosis is fact?

From https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Narcissistic_personality_disorder#Signs_And_Symptoms:

The Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, Fifth Edition (DSM-5, 2013) indicates that a person with NPD possesses at least five of the following nine criteria, typically without possessing the commensurate personal qualities or accomplishments for which they demand respect and status:
  • Grandiosity with expectations of superior treatment from other people
  • Continually demeaning, bullying and belittling others
  • Exploiting others to achieve personal gain
  • Lack of empathy for the negative impact they have on the feelings, wishes, and needs of other people
  • Fixation on fantasies of power, success, intelligence, attractiveness, etc.
  • Self-perception of being unique, superior, and associated with high-status people and institutions
  • Need for continual admiration from others
  • Sense of entitlement to special treatment and to obedience from others
  • Intense envy of others, and the belief that others are equally envious of them

In my opinion, Trump has clearly demonstrated the first eight of those nine features. I cannot say whether he has demonstrated the ninth feature.

Can only a psychologist or psychiatrist judge this? For example, when Trump calls himself a genius - can only a psychologist or psychiatrist judge that to be grandiosity? Or when Trump mocks disabled people and demeans his rivals - can only a psychologist or psychiatrist judge that to be bullying, demeaning and belittling others?

I would think only a medical practitioner is suitably qualified to identify and diagnose a medical condition. I have no problem with you saying you think / are of the opinion he has a medical disorder but your repeated statements of this as fact show a complete disdain for any truth.

By your reasoning, it is a complete disdain for truth to state as fact that Stalin was a psychopath, because no mental health professional ever diagnosed him such following a clinical evaluation.

I have two questions:
  1. Why does it bother you so much when people like myself say that Trump is a narcissist?
  2. Do you think that Trump has any of those features that are listed in the DSM diagnostic criteria for NPD?
It seems like you're deflecting from his behaviour by arguing over who can assess it.

1. I don't have an issue with you saying you think he is a narcissist, schizophrenic or an alien. I'm bothered by otherwise sane, rational and possibly even intelligent individuals losing all sense of reality the moment Trump enters the equation.

2. I'm not a medical professional, and neither have I looked at his life closely enough to make an informed judgement.
