medical aid contributions are entirely voluntary, and it does not matter in the least, but I, and most people I imagine, contribute in order to help themselves, not others ... alas, the fund's rules are the fund's rules, and the laws that govern them is the law
fun fact: if the government got completely out of the way in medicine, and I do mean completely, there would be no need for medical aid to pay escalating costs and I would choose not to have medical aid and rather pay my own costs directly
What is the evidence for your claim that government regulation increases the cost of medicine?
In the Wild West, there was no government regulation in medicine. Anybody could call themself a doctor and perform any treatment they wanted.
