US Election 2020

The interview is really worth reading:

Utter disgrace that a dedicated, decades-long public servant like Fauci has to be subjected to this moronic clown's narcissism.

Also disgusting to see some of the bimbos on Fox and Friends attack Fauci for saying that trials must be conducted on hydroxychloroquine-azithromycin before it can be recommended.

I mean, I can't think why Democrats would balk at the notion of creating a half-trillion Dollar slush fund that only an impeached president and Steve Mnuchin get to make payments from, and then get to keep those payments secret 'till after the election.

Crickets on this. I see nothing has changed.

He's not at this evenings "briefing" - maybe he's gatvol, or fired.

^lmao. Trump beanie baby hysterics intensifies.

The garbage GOP bill would have created an unaccountable $500bn slush fund for Trump and co. to use on whoever they please with zero accountability or direction.

Nothing about ensuring people aren't laid off, ensuring they don't use it for stock buybacks or executive bonuses, etc. And they want to keep the firms they give the money to secret for at least 6 months.

Utterly absurd.

Every briefing is more embarrassing than the previous. This idiot has either lost touch with reality or he's lost touch with reality.
God help America cos they'll get fokol from this rambling moron.

Can you blame them? They are still trying to figure out how to explain how communism is good in a time of crisis. Very confusing times for orange man supporters.

I still chuckle everytime I see one of these Free-Market goobers rant about 'price gouging' when they can't get their mitts on some hand saniter or masks. It's almost like they're purposefully missing the point.

Anyway, I'm sure we'll see an "Orange Man Bad" or "TDS" post here and they will carry on ignoring that President "most transparent ever" wants to dole out hundreds of millions of dollars in secret.

Can't wait for the George Bush II handling of yet another moronic Republican, when they all slink off muttering "Trump was never a real conservative anyway"

The Orwellian revisionism on behalf of the tangerine baby is astounding.

His direct words:

Feb. 26: “So we’re at the low level. As they get better, we take them off the list, so that we’re going to be pretty soon at only five people. And we could be at just one or two people over the next short period of time. So we’ve had very good luck.” — Trump at a White House briefing.

Feb. 26: “And again, when you have 15 people, and the 15 within a couple of days is going to be down to close to zero, that’s a pretty good job we’ve done.” — Trump at a press conference.

Feb. 26: “I think every aspect of our society should be prepared. I don’t think it’s going to come to that, especially with the fact that we’re going down, not up. We’re going very substantially down, not up.” — Trump at a press conference, when asked if “U.S. schools should be preparing for a coronavirus spreading.”

Feb. 27: “It’s going to disappear. One day — it’s like a miracle — it will disappear.”

I haven't been in this forum for years, just visiting to see how South Africans are faring the virus outbreak.

It's weird to see that people in South Africa are supportive of this orange dumpster fire of a President - and the cognitive dissonance his supporters show, whether it's here in the US or in SA.

The man is a moron and he has bungled this whole outbreak, he had months to prepare for it and if he didn't disband the pandemic response team two years ago we would have been even more prepared. His desire to downplay everything led to right wing media and my right wing friends here to parrot his view that this virus was all a hoax or that it was overblown. The man literally said we can go to work if we are sick and that its ok. It didn't matter how much logic or reasoning you used, they would still come back to "this is overblown, Italy is an outlier" before him and Fox News changed their tune.

We are saved by the competence of our governors who have mandated statewide lockdowns, but the orange idiot won't do it because he only cares about the stock market and his reelction chances than savings lives. But since it isn't mandated federally, any state that doesn't mandate a shelter in lockdown can just infect other states.

The fact that in the "greatest country in the world" we still can't test on a mass scale let alone provide equipment to protect our nurse and doctors is a travesty.

Will this virus have not made it to the US had someone else been president? No. But this man made everything gargantuanly worse.

They knew the Dems wouldn't accept it. Mitch McConnell is the most disgusting human being in Congress. And boy there's loads of them.

He is a loathsome toad of a person.

This is how he responded in 2008 when Obama was trying to get stimulus out the door.

McConnell, the Kentucky Republican who will lead a smaller GOP minority next Congress, said the bill should be the subject of extensive hearings to scrutinize how the federal dollars would be spent and questioned Democrats' goals to approve the bill by the time Obama is sworn into office on Jan. 20.

"Surely the Democrat leadership in Congress doesn't plan to spend a trillion dollars of taxpayer money -- nearly $10,000 in new debt for everyone who pays federal income tax, charged to the credit card for our children to pay -- without safeguards, without appropriate hearings to scrutinize how tax dollars are being spent," he said in a statement.

In addition to hearings, McConnell has called for an open amendment process to give the GOP opportunity to alter the bill as it heads to the Senate floor.

Now he's trying to push nearly twice as much through with zero oversight, zero amendment, zero hearings, zero mandates or accountability. Utterly absurd.

I just don't get it..... There's nothing wrong with being conservative, but at a certain point can you stop batting for "your team" and just realize that they're genuinely just there to help these big companies?

Guess not?

So, you just want to let the man who ran his Middle Eastern business as a transparent money laundering front, routinely misrepresented the valuations on his properties to the government, ran casinos and multiple other businesses into the ground, and was found guilty of using his charity as a personal slush fund and running a fraudulent university that bilked its students out of tens of thousands of dollars, to be entrusted with the sole power of disbursement of hundreds of billions of dollars of federal bailout money? You brainwashed f***ing rube, you are the mark of marks.

You said he "literally didn't say that", which is patently false.

And has he ever apologised for that blatant BS? Or the numerous BS he's spouted after that?

No, he said "I don't take responsibility at all."
Whatever dude, Orange Man Bad.

Trump predicts 'this is going to be bad' but vows to reopen America https://www.cnn.com/2020/03/24/politics/donald-trump-coronavirus-strategy/index.html

"Our country was not built to be shut down," the President warned on Monday. "We are going to be opening up our country for business because our country was meant to be open."

"We are going to get it all going again very soon," he said, without setting a timeline -- though he previously called for rethinking the White House's guidance on social distancing next week.

Well, it didn’t take long for him to give up the war
