On Twitter, folk talk about subtweeting. I’m not sure what the equivalent would be called on a forum, but my post was 100% whatever it is.

Golf seemed like a great analogy for careless leaders who got folk into this mess.

Another advantage is that the briefings have become so predictable, with Trump endlessly repeating the same falsehoods and self-puffery. Indeed, CNN’s wonderful Daniel Dale recently broke them down into their fairly consistent constituent parts, each of which can be anticipated and prepared for:

Inaccurate progress reports
False, dubious or questionable medical claims
False pronouncements that this was all unforeseen
Media-bashing
Vague economic cheerleading
An empathy shortage
Self-promotion, complaints of victimhood
Trump being Trump
In addition to the real-time split-screen annotation, network anchors should prepare viewers before the briefing with a preview of the misinformation and lies likely to come. And right after, they should summarize what was said that was accurate, and correct what was said that was not.

Or don’t show it at all

My preference is for a live feed of the Trump briefings, featuring a diligently curated split screen that holds him accountable for his deceit and deficiencies.

But if that’s not going to happen, then yes, I agree with my colleagues who have said that the networks should stop airing them live. Their arguments are incredibly strong.

Some members are battling the virus personally. Minutes after the vote, Rep. Joe Cunningham (D-S.C.) said he tested positive, almost exactly two weeks after he was in contact with another member, Rep. Ben McAdams, who is currently hospitalized due to complications from the illness. Rep. Mike Kelly (R-Pa.) also announced on Friday that he tested positive for coronavirus, and added that he wasn’t in D.C. during the relief bill vote.

Try Pew and Gallup research, much more trustworthy than CBS BS.
 
Ah yes, US stimulus packages. Where if we had to do it, our money would be worth nothing but when the US does it, everyone's money becomes garbage at the same time which means no one's does. I sure love having the US dollar as the world's reserve currency.
